In recent months when I've encountered problems with a large corporation's website and had to call their support I have routinely been asked what browser I am using and when I say FF I am told to close FF and use Google Chrome. It is to the point that when I had to make a similar call today I already knew what they were going to say, and they did, use Chrome. I do not have, nor do I want Chrome installed on my computer. I'm starting to wonder if Google has reached out to Corporate America to make their sites only Chrome friendly thus avoiding FF privacy, non tracking features. Has anyone else experienced this?

What kind of problems do you have with Firefox ?

Most off the time issues are caused by using content blocking extensions or making changes to default Firefox settings.

If you use extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) that can block content (Adblock Plus, NoScript, Disconnect, Ghostery, Privacy Badger, uBlock Origin) always make sure such extensions do not block content.

Firefox shows a purple shield instead of a gray shield at the left end of the location/address bar in case Enhanced Tracking Protection is blocking content. You can click shield icon for more detail and possibly disable the protection. You can check the Web Console for messages about blocked content.

You can also check the Web Console for possible error messages (best is to hide CSS errors).

My problem isn't really with FF and the issues vary. Today I visited a website I regularly order from and the site would load for about a half second then the page would go blank. After many tries and diy solutions I called and was told due to a recent update I should not use FF and use Chrome.

The problems vary from business to business, such as links that don't work, text fields unable to be filled in, forms that do not submit, it's different everywhere but each time I call that particular company's tech support team I am told don't use FF use Chrome, though FF had been successful until I ran into a particular issue.

If you read my question carefully I don't believe the issue is FF but it seems some businesses are deliberately making their sites FF unfriendly. I appreciate you taking the time to give advice but it isn't relevant as none of those issues apply. I do not use any extensions.

The business (large multi national corporation) I called today told me they just did an update and they no longer support FF.
