Dear Sir or Madam, My system preferences show only a check mark, not a choice of default browser. Consequently I have not been able to set my default browser to Firefox. In Outlook, links open in Safari when I prefer Firefox. Thank you for your help.

You can try setting Firefox as the default browser on your computer from within the Firefox preferences page. See Make Firefox your default browser.

If that doesn't work, the default browser on Mac can be changed within the Apple settings as well as within the Safari settings. See Setting Firefox as the default browser does not work - What to do for more information on that.

Hope this helps.

Hi Wesley, Thank you for reaching out, however, those suggestions did not work. My Mac preferences appear to be corrupted as I only have a check mark in the drop down for setting browser preferences. I cannot take a screen shot for you as the checkmark disappears. Thank you.

Good evening sally12,

Sounds like something might be wrong with Mac OS. No need to worry, these pesky bugs are common occurrences when using Mac products.

Try a "hard reset" of your PC. Make sure important files are saved to your iCloud account or another cloud storage service before continuing. It is highly recommended that you reinstall your computer’s original version of macOS from the internet.

Reinstall macOS

Let me know if I can be of further assistance.

Best, Josh S.
