Externally updated Google Calendar events cause duplicate entries in Thunderbird.

I get calendar invites on my Gmail all the time which mostly works fine. However, every time a calendar invite is updated e.g. the time has changed, an additional entry is put into Thunderbird's calendar.

All of these invites share the same external identifier/uuid, so updates on one will change the rest. Deleting any one of them will delete the rest as well.

Can the maintainer look into the issue and prevent Thunderbird from creating duplicate calendar entries where UUIDs are identical?
