Firefox does not keep login information for common websites like Chrome does

more options

I used Firefox for years before becoming frustrated with it, went to Chrome but now I want to come back. However Firefox is not keeping usernames and passwords for commonly accessed websites. Chrome does do this. I have doubled checked the settings in Firefox. Thanks!

Hi drtom444, could you clarify something for me. Does this seem to be a problem with:

  • Firefox's Password Manager not asking if you want Firefox to save a login for a site
  • Firefox's Password Manager not automatically filling login forms for sites where you've saved the login
  • Firefox not retaining cookies for sites where you want to stay logged in (for example, you check a box on the login form to stay logged in, but after closing and re-opening Firefox, you're no longer logged in)
  • Some other aspect of logging in
