I have widevine installed and DRM play enabled, but I still can't play amazon prime video. How can I fix it?
I get the message: We're experiencing a problem playing this video. For assistance, please go to www.amazon.com/videohelp. Youtube and network websites work fine. I'm using firefox 62.0

That sounds like a connection problem between Amazon and your computer. As to why because youtube as mentioned works fine.
Do you at least see the DRM icon at the left end of the location bar?
Try the Firefox version from the official Mozilla server if you currently use a version from the repositories of your Linux distribution.

Yes, it led to me to the "configure..." button. When I clicked it, I was redirected to the firefox settings tab, where "Play DRM controlled content" was already checked.

Upon further inspection, Pandora is also not working, so I doubt it's an amazon-specific issue.
