I have seen reports that the next update will turn on DNS over HTTPS and Trusted Recursive Resolver via Cloudfair by default. I want to be sure I know how to turn this off before I will install any further updates to Firefox, I trust MY DNS more than Cloudfair.

The report I read did not mention that TRR could be turned off if it was set as the default in the September updates. The links provided by McCoy were exactly what I was looking for. For SOME uses TRR may be a significant security enhancement and I may well have my laptops configured to use it. But inside my own network I want to maintain control of what DNS servers I use.

Please know that the DNS of HTTPS is an experiment only in the Firefox nightly release. There are no plans to release it to all users, and if there were, it would allow for users to easily turn it on and off. This is just an experiment to see if failures are greater with the feature turned on.

Please don't trust everything you read on websites that only exist to spread fear and generate clicks. The blog post you read was explicitly wrong as there are no plans to turn this on the any release, much least the next one
