I selected text in an incoming email, inadvertently pressed 'delete', the entire email permanently deleted.
I selected some text in an inbox email. On changing my mind I (foolishly) pressed 'Delete'. The entire email instantly disappeared. It was not to be found in Trash, nor Archive, nor anywhere. Seemingly not recoverable at all. Surely Delete in this situation should either have no effect or consign the email to Trash, not permanently delete it from my PC? Perhaps a problem with my computer? or perhaps with Firefox?

It maybe that it is not being seen but have not seen something like this so does sound unique. What Security Programs are you using please in both your System and Firefox as no information on Extensions where provided.
Security software like Avast/AVG, Kaspersky, BitDefender and ESET and some times Mcafee can cause issues. Please let us know.
