FIREFOX IS MY DEFAULT BROWSER. HOWEVER, WHEN I ATTEMPT TO CLICK ON SOME LINKS THEY TAKE ME TO INTERNET EXPLORER. I HAVE WINDOWS XP.
FF works most of the time when I try to go to different web sites. However, occasionally I am directed to internet explorer which doesn't work well on my windows XP. please help John

That is very odd. Please try this,
Open Windows Internet Explorer. Have it declared as the default browser, But turn off the option to check this when the browser opens (If you want).
Now do the same thing using Firefox.
Thank you Fred for your response but it didn't work. Most sites I visit connect to FF. However for example, when I click on a Groupon deal internet explorer opens. I have made FF my default browser. I was thinking of deleting internet explorer program but I am concerned abut that impact on other programs I have on my computer. Any other suggestions?
Internet Explorer is part of Microsoft Windows and should not be removed. Also, IE is used when contacting Microsoft for updates.
Open the options for Groupon. Is there a setting for what browser it uses?
