How to delete several pages of history
In View by Last Visited mode I can only delete each page one by one In View by Site I can only delete each folder one by one In View by Date I can only delete all sites Today or Yesterday, not a bunch of sites all at once from Today

I want to do this in the Sidebar. Not in Show All History.
History-->clear recent history-->select time range and category-->clear now
As said- I wanted to delete from sidebar. It would be easier. I am often deleting 10 pages at a time
In the sidebar you can select more that one entry if the usual way by holding down the Shift key and extend the selection by using cursor Down. On Mac you probably have to hold the Command key to (de)select individual items. Be sure to click to the left of the site icon to avoid opening a link.
That is the trick I was lookin for! it is not intuitively obvious so I wonder if there is a documentation in the Help files ?

I don't think that some one ever has taken the time to document that you can click to the far left in the sidebar to select that line and prevent the link from opening. Another possibility is to right-click and close the right-click context menu with the Escape key. That was what I used a years ago before I found that other way.
Right clicking displays two options:Delete or Forget If you press Forget, that site will be deleted even if it appears several times whereas on Delete, only the selected item disappears. Thus, Forget is another way to delete many items at once.
You mention Escape key to close the context menu. Do you use Win or Mac ? I use Mac. I just click outside the context menu to close it
