After updating Firefox to the latest version (154.0) a short while ago, Firefox now insists on adding a “Firefox” icon to my Start Menu every time I open it. I do not need or want this additional icon, as I already have all the Firefox icons I want in exactly the place(s) where I want them. I am not finding a toggle for this behavior anywhere in the Settings menu structure, although I might be overlooking it. Is there a way to stop this annoying behavior besides rolling back to version 153?

(I am running Windows 11 on a desktop PC with all updates installed, and Firefox is set as my default browser.)

Has the profile logic been thought through?

When I set a default profile, I would expect

A) all new pages open into the default B) That firefox always opens the default without request.

This does not happen.

firefox.exe -P is set correctly.

Any ideas? I feel after the profile choice was improved, the basic logic may of been broken.

Playback works correctly usually, but if I jump forward or backwards in time it sometimes never loads. This also completely bricks the whole brower, all other tabs etc, until I close firefox and restart it. This happens on all vods of twitch, and also livestreams where I am able to rewind (subscriber function). I USED TO BE BOTHERED BY WEBSITES THAT COULD JUST OPEN A NEW WINDOW ON MY TABLET. I FOUND I COULD BLOCK THEM AND STARTED TO DO IT EVERY TIME I ENCOUNTERED ONE. IT WORKED GREAT! LATELY, I HAVE BEEN GETTING SOME FROM HILLSDALE COLLEGE AND I BLOCKED ONE YESTERDAY. TODAY I GOT ANOTHER ONE FROM HILLSDALE WITH A DIFFERENT ADDRESS AND WHEN I WENT TO BLOCK IT, I COULD NOT GET TO THAT SECTION. WHERE IS IT?

For at least a few months now, my browser will suddenly and randomly go fullscreen all by itself. I can't exit it, and then it goes back to normal after at most a minute. It hasn't happened in at least a week. But today, it froze like that, not responding. I quit firefox, waited a bit, then restarted it. It went fullscreen and froze again. I waited at least 10min and it then went back to normal and responded again. It only happens when using firefox. I've done virus scans, etc, and it still keeps happening. Please help. Thanks.

Environment:

Firefox on Windows Web app prints PDF by creating an iframe with a blob URL, then calling iframe.contentWindow.print() Library behavior is similar to print-js (PDF iframe print flow) Problem:

When Firefox PDF handling is set to “Open in Firefox”, printing mostly works. When Firefox PDF handling is set to “Save File”, the same blob iframe print flow often fails: print preview shows blank page / about:blank or preview shows an extra trailing blank page print dialog options also differ from normal PDF preview flow What I already confirmed:

iframe src (blob URL) looks valid and similar in both settings issue is reproducible with same PDF data fallback to image-based printing works but degrades UX (different print panel/options, possible scaling differences)

usually when i click my keyboard's knob thing, it will pause and unpause whatever media is playing. but recently it's stopped doing that. it will work for anywhere between 2 mintues to 30 minutes, but eventually it stops. the only way to make it work again is to refresh the page or start a new page. the troubleshooting steps i've taken is: -close other media software (spotify, other tabs etc) -gone to abouy:config and typed in mediakey to check it works. also turned it off and on for good measure -turned off xbox gamebar -turned my pc off and on again. none of those worked i also thought it might be autoplay being turned off, but it didnt do anything. please help. thank you

The password saver and autofill has worked for me for many years. However, recently (08/18/2026) on many login pages that I regularly use, it will not !! I did discover that, if I supply the first character of the USERNAME, only then Firefox will supply the rest.

Tonight when I launched Firefox, I started getting everything opening in a new window, rather than a new tab, which is what I have indicated in settings and have always had before. Even if I drag a tab from a new window to a previous window, I cannot close the tab. All I can do is close the window.

I was reinstalling my windows and created a backup from my old firefox into my usb drive. My backup failed and coudn't be restored, I'm confident that I use the correct password, tried to copy the file from usb drive into my laptop and select it from there but the result is the same, if you guys would be so kind as to guide me on how to restore my backup, since my password and everything is in there. I didn't create another backup since I believe that this one would succeed. Thank you in advance.e

Anyone succeed with running Firefox in headless mode under Ubuntu?

I tried:

firefox --headless --safe-mode -P headless https://quan.hoabinh.vn

but got this error:

I installed Firefox as from "https://packages.mozilla.org/apt" repo.

Running Windows 11, and Plex Media Server, version 1.43.3.10861 x64. Firefox just updated to version 154.0. Now I loose access to the Plex server at random intervals, and have to reboot everything to get it back. This sometimes happens in the middle of a show or movie. Help.

my tabs bar, containing several hundred tabs, in firefox has suddenly decided to disappear and i can't get it to show. same for the menu toolbar (the one w/ the open, save,...) never really know which toolbar i am looking for. using latest version of ff and windows 11 desktop tried to get info directly from mozilla, but is the only place that probably has the answer.

what ever happened to support for the browser? it was relatively easy to get to the support area but now it mostly shows self-advertising for firefox.
