Good Day Volunteers,

I've posted this question on the Mozilla/Firefox Volunteer Forum as well.

I use Firefox as my Search Engine as apposed to I.E.

I have chosen to use BING for my Image Searches.

When I find an image that I would like to see and/or download, I click on the image.

It is at this point that the image opens, however it also opens in a second tab as well.

This doesn't hinder the functionality of the Bing search, however it does become a little annoying at times.

Is there anyone out there that might be able to fix this problem?

With the update to Firefox 64.0.0 and the Update to Win 10 Version 1809 I am no longer seeing the problem of two tabs opening.

Hi terry478, welcome!

When I do a search on Bing images and click a thumbnail, a panel opens in the page with a larger version of the image on a black background. So far so good.

Then if I click on that larger image, two new tabs open to the identical address. That's strange.

I noticed that if, instead of clicking the image itself, I clicked the button for "View image" on the toolbar just below the image, it only opens one tab. So that part still works as you would expect.

When I use the Page Inspector tool (MDN) to peek under the covers, there do not seem to be any link tags on the large image. So a script is launching the new tabs. I didn't try to find the script...

What forum would that be?

Firefox and IE is a web browser as a search engine would be for example duckduckgo.com, google.com, bing.com etc.
