I regulary need to block images when I'm using Firefox, and until this morning I was able to do it by setting it in the options. Now my firefox just got updated and I can't find that option anywhere -_-' Anyone could explain me please how I can do it again?

Thank you!

Hi,

Firefox used to have a feature to disable loading images, just like Internet Explorer had. However, the modernisation of the web probably made this feature useless, because right now navigating without images out of a mobile context is really useless.

Despite this, I found an extension which allows you to selectively block or show images on websites, so you can use this feature again. You may want to give it a try.

Thank you very much!! It seems to work very good, and it is even more confortable than the old option ^^

That answer is not well thought-out. Nobody is suggesting navigating completely without images; rather, we need and want to block certain images from specific sites, usually because they are either offensive or, most often, slow our browsing.

If you are using a connection with very limited bandwidth, being able to block the most common advertisers both speeds up browsing and improves the general appearance of the content.

Mozilla would do well to keep image-blocking ability as a part of the standard Firefox release. I'm disappointed that they haven't done that.

Easiest to block only images from specific domains is via the Tools > Page Info > Media window (Block images from).
