My wife and I have used cs.com email addresses with Thunderbird for many years. For the last couple of weeks we have been unable to get our cs.com addresses to set up/work on Thunderbird. They seem to default to Yahoo email addresses. Any ideas as to how to fix this problem? I had a remote session with AOL tech support, and they were unable to resolve it from their end.

Your picture shows a connection to imap.aol.com, which is correct for CS accounts:

What are the rest of the settings? They should be imap.aol.com on 993, SSL/TLS, OAuth2 authentication, User Name = email address; smtp.aol.com on 465, SSL/TLS, OAuth2 authentication, User Name = email address.

I am having trouble with both [email1]@cs.com and [email]@cs.com. This is after many successful years of using these addresses.

My settings seem to agree with what you sent me. Furthermore, I had an extensive remote session with AOL tech support this morning, and they verified my settings but failed to make Thunderbird logon to my accounts.

Your settings look OK, except for the incoming the User Name is the full address, while it's just the part before @ for the outgoing. Not sure if it matters, but it should be the same for both servers. My AOL account, which is for a netscape.net/aim.com address, uses just the part before @.

After adjusting the User Name, remove the passwords/tokens from Save Passwords in TB Options, check that cookies are allowed in TB Privacy & Security settings, restart TB, enter the account password in the OAuth window when prompted.

I notice you also have gmail and outlook.com accounts, so make sure the correct smtp server is selected for each account, i.e. the AOL account sends on the AOL smtp. Select the account in Account Settings, then set the smtp in the Outgoing Server (SMTP) menu in the right pane.

The gmail account should also use OAuth2 authentication.

I was finally able to make [email]@cs.com work on at least one, and probably, two computers. What I did was delete the outgoing server imap.aol.com, and its variations.

You can set the cs.com account to send through the gmail smtp, but recipients will see the sender as the gmail address, not the cs.com address, unless you add the cs.com account as a 'Send mail as' account in the Accounts and Import settings on gmail. Also, the recommended authentication in TB for gmail accounts is OAuth2.
