I think I just identified the problem... it was my System Mechanic that was wiping out the saved passwords... some how during an "update" for System Mechanic it activated the clear all saved passwords action. Thanks for your time and assistance... I wish updates wouldn't change your settings...

Do you mean they disappear from the Password Manager or is this about special cookies used by a website to remember you?

more options

It's the area where the logins are saved which I think is the password manager>> Options / Security / Logins / Saved Logins page. When working normally all of the saved logins are on this page with passwords... these are disappearing and I have to re-type password when these disappear... they stay for a few days and then just randomly disappear... "Remember logins for sites" box is checked on. ... and private browsing mode is turned off... thanks in advance for any help

Having more than one version of a program may cause issues. You must remove the older programs. Then get the current full installer.

Flash: Grab the uninstaller from here:

Then reinstall the latest version.

Note: Windows users should download the active_x for Internet Explorer. and the plugin for Plugin-based browsers (like Firefox).

Note: Windows 8 and Windows 10 have built-in flash players and Adobe will cause a conflict. Install the plugin only. Not the active_x.

These can't get your data back, but will help in the future.

These add-ons can be a great help by backing up and restoring Firefox

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/febe/ FEBE (Firefox Environment Backup Extension)

FEBE allows you to quickly and easily backup your Firefox extensions, history, passwords, and more. In fact, it goes beyond just backing up -- It will actually rebuild your saved files individually into installable .xpi files. It will also make backups of files that you choose.
