Import contacts from Android phone to Thunderbird
I need to import my contacts from my phone to my Thunderbird account on a Windows 7 system.
I can import contacts to a default Windows 7 folder called "contacts", located under desktop, (computer name), app data, but I can't move them from there to Thunderbird.
I have Samsung's Kies3, but it has no feature to upload my address book to my desktop other than default to Windows 7's "contacts" folder (sentence above).
It seems Microsoft is attempting to sabotage any effort to cooperate with Mozilla's Thunderbird.
Has anyone found a work-around?

Install MoreFunctionsForAddressBook (how to install), then open Address Book, Tools/MoreFunctionsForAddressBook/Actions for contacts/Import vCard/vcf, then select the vcf files in the 'Contact import' window (Ctrl-A to select all the files in a folder).

If all your contacts are available via Google Contacts you can try this add-on. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/thunderbird/addon/google-contacts/
Thanks christ1, but I don't have them in Google Contacts. I would have to upload them to the web, which my friends might not appreciate.
I just opened the Windows 7 file called Contacts (that does not seem to be associated with anything), and copied each file by hand typing the info into each individual "new contact" folder in Thunderbird. So tedious, but quite effective.
There's really no attempt to 'sabotage' TB users. If you open Contacts on the Win 7 computer, click the Export button and choose csv or vcf format. You may have to edit the csv or install a TB add-on to import multiple vcf files, but the methods are well-established and have been explained many times before on this forum.
sfhowes, thanks for replying. I did try that, but it would not export the files to Thunderbird. It did export the files to my desktop as individual vcf cards.
I tried an add on called birdiesync, but that didn't work for me either.
While I was waiting for an answer, I did this: "I just opened the Windows 7 file called Contacts (that does not seem to be associated with anything), and copied each file by hand typing the info into each individual "new contact" folder in Thunderbird. So tedious, but quite effective."
So, I accomplished the task, but I was hoping for a simple app or something recommended by Mozilla that would work.
Also, thanks for pointing out that many, many others have had the same problem. If you know of a universal solution, I would appreciate a link.
