How do I make a particular list from my email contacts? Also why does my info jump up and down when I am scrolling?

I have a large contact list but need to make a smaller list for a special group. I type in the name of the new group where it shows "new lists" but it doesn't take it.

Also when I am scrolling down the page, it jumps up and down while I am scrolling.

  • Does this happen after you update to Firefox 33?
  • Does this happen in other browsers?
  • Are there any errors in the Web Console when it jumps?

The features that may contribute to this from Firefox are hardware acceleration accelerated scrolling. Accelerated scrolling can be toggled in the Firefox Menu > Preferences > Advanced > General > under Browsing.


Try disabling graphics hardware acceleration. You might need to restart Firefox in order for this to take effect, so save all work first (e.g., mail you are composing, online documents you're editing, etc.).

Then perform these steps:

  1. Open Firefox Options window (Preferences on Mac or Linux) as follows:
    • In Firefox 29.0 and above, click the menu button New Fx Menu and select Options for Windows or Preferences on Mac or Linux.
    • In Firefox 28.0 and previous versions, click the orange Firefox button at the top left, then select the "Options" button, or, if there is no Firefox button at the top, go to Tools > Options.
  2. In the Firefox Options (or Preferences) window, click the Advanced tab, then select General.
  3. In the settings list, you should find the Use hardware acceleration when available checkbox. Uncheck this checkbox.
  4. Now, restart Firefox and see if the problems persist.

How is your question related to Firefox support? Firefox doesn't do email and doesn't have a "contact list". If you are using Firefox to access your web mail service - which one? Gmail - Yahoo Mail - or - ??

If your question is about Thunderbird a moderator can move this thread to the proper queue.
