The reply answers my question but doesn't solve my problem, though. I guess there are a lot of us out here without perfect eyesight, who would like to be able to adapt font sizes for readability.

I can adapt font sizes for my emails when i log in via the browser, so could there not be a facility for routing SMS text messages via the browser? Could that be a workaround until you get adaptable fonts for the standard interface? (I just want to use standard SMS text messages, no whatsapp or lookalikes)

Unfortunately, I am not familiar with ways to route SMS through the browser. Perhaps an online search might be of good assistance to you?

Some services like Skype, Google Voice, and MightyText are all designed to work with the browser, but I have not personally tried any of their SMS services.
