WIFI WPA-EAP won't connect as EAP method only shows SIM, how can I make it show more?

Trying to connect to a wifi connection which uses WPA-EAP security, with a username and password system (at work and I cannot change these settings). My Android device connects with no issues, but my ZTE open C on Firefox OS will not... Looking into my Android settings it is using EAP method PEAP; but the FFOS will only let me use SIM.

What is the workaround for this? How can I connect my device to my work's wifi?

Hi mgengokalzalski,

I understand that you are not able to connect to your work's Wi-Fi access point, which uses WPA-EAP encryption.

Unfortunately, this feature is not supported in Firefox OS version 1.3 - which is the current official version of the ZTE Open C.

Our engineers have recently implemented this feature, and it should land on version 2.0. You can find more details on the following bug, which tracked this issue:

Version 2.0 is scheduled to be "Code Complete" by September 1, 2014, and then released to our partners for testing and modification:

Our partners - the manufacturers, are responsible for releasing updates, so I do not know what is the timeline that ZTE has for upgrading the Open C devices to version 2.0 or later.

I hope you find this information helpful. Please let us know if you have any other questions.

Thanks,

- Ralph
