This is a thank you follow-up to my yesterdays' post starting with; "firefox version 89 is insanely slow with no explanation had to try reset...." I can't find my msg from yesterday started with this, but wanted to thank you all for fixing Everything - Overnight! I am So glad I waited to, "system restore," until today bec it(MSs' OS) gave warning it might not restore All of the elements correctly. Thank you for your hard work and just appreciating how essential the browsers' Working is to our lives. It is. Thank you, thank you, thank you!  :) (I'm now thinking I should maybe put my updates on "notify me first /let me download when ready"...but I'm not really sure if that would accomplish anything because I'd still have to download them to see if there were problem/s that effected My devise in particular. Community posts don't tell you that - or what to do. Pop-up status msgs would be appreciated.. if you'd have time...even if not all knowing...just to know some are aware of X issue...working on it...estimated back up time... whether we could/should do a "system restore" & wait until further notice to DL again. But I guess our issues are what you need to see to fix them...But I digress. Thank you again for working hard to store functionality. I needed something right to happen in my life - someone to be an expert at what they do. Thanks for your humanity.

How to get back single-line page spines? The Firefox 87.0 or 88.0 have single-line page spines. The firefox 89.0 have double-line and double-height page spines. How decrese spines height back?

With the recent Firefox update, when I type into search bar on home page, it switches and types it into the address bar at the left in top menu instead. Does anyone know why?

I have an older PC but it was working fine with Netflix and Prime Video until this latest update (v89.0). It seems that when I try to go to Netflix or Amazon Prime Video the browser crashes almost instantly, and usually shuts my whole computer off. It doesn't go to a blue screen, the computer just decides it's time to reboot. Now again, I'm using an older machine (and I can't afford a new one), but this was never a problem until this latest version of Firefox.

I am also not a fan of the aesthetics in this version and I'm wondering if I can revert back to an older version where the crashing was less frequent. Any help would be appreciated.

As of yesterday's update I cannot access Hotmail or Gmail through FireFox! I can do so in the private browser which I don't want to have to use AND I can access both through other browsers but would prefer to stick with FireFox if only they'd stop screwing their customers up so often! I DID EDIT THE URLs CONTAINED IN THE SHORTCUTS ON THE BROWSER'S OPENING PAGE TO JUST BASIC DOMAIN NAMES BUT NOTHING HAPPENED AND NOTHING CHANGED THE RESPONSE OF FIREFOX! Can anyone please help? I am so fed up!

PS there was a post last year of the identical issue but the solution she used isn't working here!

I have no idea what happened but I've lost the Firefox menu bar and the icons I was using for quick access disappeared

above it assent easy to find a way to contact you for support

For years now Mozilla has been forcing users to add a userChrome file to get their tabs BELOW the address bar. They have also been changing the rules for doing it every so often so users have to go back and modify their userChrome.css files.

WHY doesn't the Mozilla development team wake up and make it easier for users to maintain the look and feel of their UI to match their preferences. It shouldn't require a special .css file to make this happen.

PLEASE add settings in the about:config (or better yet in the tools/options) to allow users to move the tabs below the address bar line.

ARE YOU LISTENING Mozilla??

I just want native full-screen. It's 2021- why is such a simple feature still impossible!??? (Heck- even F11 doesn't work on my computer). Please please please- just a check-box for "Always launch in full-screen mode". Speaking of such matters- your smooth scroll option ain't! I have to use Logitech's extension to get it and even then there's no speed control. I see this endlessly- companies focus on glitz and gloss over/see through the essential basics (It's what killed Opera!).

I'm running Firefox with Win7x86 on a Biostar desktop I5 motherboard. All was fine until the latest Firefox update 88. or 89. when the bookmarks (star with a pan underneath) drop down list became doublespaced. I would like to get back to single spacing -- too much vertical slider activity.

Suddenly, cache is not emptying when 'Clear data' is used. Also suddenly, 'Delete cookies and site data when Firefox is closed' preference is faded out/ unavailable. 'Never remember history' is checked as usual but cache does not clear when Firefox is closed. All cookies and data cleared without problem 2 days ago. This has never happened before.

Tabs in 89 have moved to the bottom of the screen obscuring web page content. How can i move them to the top where they were? I am not a programmer, so a simple solution would be helpful.

Now there is a huge white bar up top with my open tabs.

I prefer it how it was in v88

How do I get it to look like it was before the update?

(it really is terrible now, and while i always promoted FF to whoever, I think this unwanted change makes me want to look elsewhere, sadly)

The search bar is displayed on the home page. And you can even put a cursor in it. However, as soon as you start typing something, the cursor shuffles into the address bar and the text is entered there!

This is absolutely schizoid behavior! The worst UI is simply impossible to imagine!

Why didn't you give users any choice? Don't you care about your own users? This is absurdly allogical behavior of the interface! What fool could have thought of such a thing ?!

Besides the fact that it is corny inconvenient, there is another extremely important disadvantage. Users suffering from cataracts put a dark theme for a reason - they otherwise see badly.

So what happens when the user has a dark theme and the start page displays a huge whitelist at the top of the screen as they enter text, what do you think? I can tell you - a user with poor eyesight is blinded for a second.

Guys, when will you start thinking before changing the browser for the worse? Seriously, Firefox has lost its entire user base over the past few years. This is very disappointing.
