how do i update my firefox browser using a usb stick

i have recently purchased an hp notebook. when i go to access my hotmail account using quickweb i am asked to update my browser from a choice of four. i choose firefox and proceed. when i choose the download i want and and start the download i am told that to download it i must use a usb stick. once i have downloaded it to the usb this is where the problem arises. once i'm at this point i then don't know how to proceed and finish updating my browser.
