To November 1st 2020 I used playing videos from my Firefox browser on macOS on my smart TV. Youtube app on TV was paired to Firefox browser (or my profile on Youtube) and from browser I could "send link" to TV and it started to play this video. This pairing option was removed on November 1st from my knowledge, and as alternative Google's support page hinted alternative method that should work if devices are on the same wifi network - it worked from my iPhone, but not from MacBook (Firefox) - cast icon just did not appeared in browser. Today I tried to install Google Chrome browser and it works in it! Why it's not working from Firefox??? As I understand it's still not video casting like Airplay, or Chromecast it's just alternative method to sending the video "link" which TV should play, but not thru Internet but thru local network. Is there any workaround? I really don't want to switch to Chrome not even just for Youtube playback... I want use ONE browser.
