Like I said - my ZTE Open C doesn't recognize SD card. The phone came to me with Android and the very same card worked ok. I used this card to install FFOS and it was also ok, but now it's not. The system doesn't see it and I can't even use camera as I can't set any other media storage than SD card. The card is formatted in FAT32 format and I don't really know what's going on. Any ideas?

Everything seems to work fine, after I rooted my phone using these tools: http://en.comebuy.com/developer-firefox-os-open-c.html

Before I've done it I observed some strange behaviors you might wanna know about:

After i plugged the phone into my PC I could see two new removable disks in explorer, but after clicking on either of them I was getting a request to "insert a disk into drive". Anyhow, when I unplugged the phone I could access "media storage" option in settings menu, which was unavailable before, and I could actually see that there is an SD card inserted and it was showing me its capacity and free/used space info. I could also take some pictures, but when tried to play some music the player gave me a message that it won't work while the phone is plugged into PC (obviously it wasn't at the time). This is exactly when I decided to root it.

Hi bazujewicz,

I understand that you are having trouble accessing the microSD card in your ZTE Open C device with Firefox OS, and that because of this, you are also not able to use the camera.

You mention that your device came with Android Operating System pre-installed -

In order to better understand and investigate on the issue that you are encountering, please reply to this message with the following information:

  • What is the OS version and Build ID found in the Device Information page? Please visit this link if you need help finding the Build ID of your phone.
  • Where did you purchase the device from? Was it marketed as an Android device?
  • What steps did you use to install Firefox OS on the device? It's possible that if an unofficial build was used, this is what could be causing issues with the SD card.
  • Please provide the exact steps to reproduce the issue you are encountering.
  • How often do you encounter this issue? Were you ever able to access the SD card on your Firefox OS device?

Please be sure to include as much detail as possible, including any websites that may exhibit this issue, and any error messages that you may be receiving, exactly as they appear. This will ensure that we will have all the information needed to investigate into this. Thank you for your help and we look forward to hearing from you!

Hi, thanks for a quick response.

I',ve bought my phone on ebay and it was described as "ZTE OPEN C 4inch Firefox OS Android 4.4 KitKat Dual Core 3G Smart Phone mobile". As it came with Android 4.4 and as I wanted to use FFOS i conatcted the seller and he provided me with a direct download link to FFOS (down.comebuy.com/EU_Android_to_FFOS.zip). Using the file I've done the SD update and installed FFOS 1.0 or 1.1 (don't remember as I updated system straight away to 1.3.0.0 version, using "Software up" tool). My current build ID is: 20140519040012.

The SD card is not being recognized pretty much since I moved from Android to FFOS. I don't get any error messages, it's just like there was no SD inserted. So far i tried formatting the card (FAT32 using windows) and something called "soft reset" (switching the phone off, removing battery, SIM and SD for 10 seconds), but it didn't work. I also tried the other SD card but with the same effect. Both cards I tried are working fine with my PC and my wife's Nokia, so they're definitely OK.

Cheers
