I'm not sure what happened in the latest update, but it broke the Canvas website that I use regularly for classes and homework. I've checked and confirmed that Canvas still works normally on Microsoft edge.

Extensions shouldn't affect the website because Canvas was working normally until the recent Firefox update.

Anyone know how to solve this problem?

Using Firefox on desktop, Windows 11. I am a long term Firefox fan/user.

My problem is I cannot find anywhere an easy method to add a shortcut on my Home Screen (which has now been a FF feature for some considerable time).

I am sure there was something available to do this in a prior version some time back. If I search the internet, I only come across articles describing how to do it on Firefox Android.

I know I can manually edit a box on the Home Screen to create what I need.

Sometimes new web sites that I visit appear in the boxes and I can then pin them in place - but the behavior around this is very erratic and unreliable - seems like random chance for an icon to appear on the home screen for a newly visited site. If this was more consistent, I could work with that.

BUT - where is the **intuitive** option??!!

I should be able to right-click on a tab and select "Add to Home Screen".

As simple as that.

Or drag and drop a link, or tab to the home screen - but this just opens the link. I have tried everything obvious that I can think of.

Anyone?

Many thanks :)

When I search "translate" into the address bar the first option is www.translate.com instead of just searching it on google (which is what I normally do). This happened after I searched the term and a little pop-up asked if I meant to go to the website instead. I accidentally clicked yes and do not know how to change it back. I would like to be able to type "translate" and have the google results show up first. Any help is greatly appreciated.

unable to see cast option on few websites like most websites. I tried to install the fx_cast option where I can see the cast icon now, but when I play youtube videos and click on cast button (fx_cast), its not detecting my google chromecast. Google chromecast is detected in edge and chrome browsers, but why is my TV not detected in firefox. Like I cannot see the cast icon on many websites where I see the cast icon on edge and chrome browsers, the icon itself is missing in many websites. Please make sure the wireless TV is atleast detected in firefox browser. I have tried so many changes and it does not detect my wireless tv or does not show my chromecast tv signal. Something is wrong with your browser, its not working fine. I have enabled the flag casting in the browser about:config as well. Appreciate it if you can please fix it asap as the streaming is abs fine in firefox browser and the same website runs slow in chrome and edge, which is why I need to use firefox to cast to my tv. Appreciate your help in this regards.

Thanks Manu

Hi,

I'm using Duckduckgo as my search engine, but when I type in a search string, it Firefox prepends it with https://html.duckduckgo.com/html/... This opens a search page that doesn't follow my dark theme. When I click on a link, another link is added that creates a link back to the same URL, causing a loop. This never happened before I upgraded to Ubuntu 22.04 & the latest version of Firefox, 100.0.2. How can I change this back?

Thanks!

Clicking on the spacebar, does not produce a space between words, when typing text. I'm using a Mac Mini M1, on macOS Monterey (V 12.4), along with a Logitech MX Keys for Mac keyboard.

This happens randomly, for instance, on this very message. I previously posted a question regarding another problem that I came across with the same hardware and Firefox.

I found the solution to that problem by disabling an Extension in Firefox, however, I can't begin to think where to look for what setting, that may be causing my current problem.

I am totally updated with Firefox, plus i cleared out everything in my history. That did not help. When i tried to get onto these websites with Chrome web browser i do not have this problem at all. Why is this? I have BitDefender Total Security newest version for home. My firewall is through them along with virus protections. I have 2-Step verification on Gmail. When I go to log in I get this: Insert your security Key into the USB. I cancel out of it and get this: Your phone can’t locate your device. Move your phone closer to the device where you’re signing in, and then try again. I "Try another way" and I try to get a "one-time security code" and it forwards me to a website where the cycle begins again. If I try "Auto-recovery" it sends me to google. I can access Gmail on the same machine via Chrome, but would rather not. I can also get it on Firefox on my phone.

I did recently turn on two-step and it asked if I wanted a key, and I thought it might mean Google Authentication, I think it meant a USB key.

Any thoughts? I rather not give up Firefox.

I haven't had to sign in for a while, so tonight when I tried and I typed the password in correctly the box just immediately closes and reopens like its incorrect. I have tried locating the key3.db and key4.db which I can't find on my system, nor can I find the login.json that is supposed to have the log of passwords to back them up. I don't have any 3rd party password managers and I've tried with my VPN disconnected. I've used the password generator to secure some of my websites so I don't even know was some of my passwords are, so resetting the primary password would be a huge hassle. If someone could please help me out I would be very appreciative. Thanks!

I have been having an issue, since just before the update to 100, where Google sites stop responding. Gmail will display banner at the top "OOPS - The system encountered a problem...", Google search from the search bar will do nothing, Google Maps will not load and any google web page will not load or refresh. Closing Firefox and restarting it will fix the issue, temporarily. At first I thought it was any web page, but I have tested other search engines and web pages, using Firefox while the Google pages are unresponsive, and it is limited to Google pages. I can open the affected Google pages with Edge, while Firefox is still "locked out".

Has anyone else noticed this issue?

Access to Google sites (Gmail, Google Search, Google Calendar) with Firefox (v. 100.0, 64-bit) is very irregular. I can sometimes open the pages, but can't, e.g., edit calendar entries. Often when I click a bookmark (in the Bookmarks Bar), or enter the URL for a Google site, nothing happens. Clicking other bookmarks opens the corresponding pages. Only Google sites seem to be affected. Is FF blocking Google?

I haven't used my microphone in Firefox in years. I tried today, logged into Google Voice, which tells me it can't access the microphone. I set permissions in Firefox's settings. I can use the microphone outside X, with sox's rec. I also can't record a new greeting in Google Voice.

Firefox 100.0.2 , Linux, Slackware 64-bit, all packages updated this morning.

I have Firefox 100.0.1 on my Mac desktop, and Firefox 100.0 on my MacBook Pro laptop. I have gone through your posted troubleshooting steps for Firefox on my desktop, to no avail. How do I get my desktop back to version 100.0 so it will work again? I can access my OneDrive account via the web on my desktop when I use the Safari browser, so the issue is definitely with Firefox version 100.0.1, and not with my desktop.
