Sir, my hp desktop PC is having -- windows10, Firefox, connect cable Broadband with 100mbps speed, Ethernet, periodically updated. I am very much fond of watching English/Foreign language movies having English CC/Subtitles, online streaming, generally on paid channels e.g. Netflix, prime video, Hotstar, you tube etc. I am not proficient in English language. To read the English CC/subtitles, I have to pause the streaming, read the subtitle and then start the streaming (pause-start, pause-start). After about 15 minutes watching the film, the screen becomes black (no video), with a no signal detected message. But audio/sound remains continue. Then I switch off the PC, restart it, and watch the movie for next 15 minutes., then again black screen.This cycle goes on. But When I watch the film continuously, without pause-start function, then there is no black screen problem. In my opinion this repeated pause-start function causes the black screen problem. Without pause-start function, I cannot watch these movies. I tried some online mentioned solutions without success. Please help me in solving this problem in a simple way as I am not perfect in computer science. Regards.

I just bought a new laptop and downloaded Firefox as I have used it for years. Although I imported my passwords and they are correct it will not log in to sites I need for work. It isn't telling me I have the wrong pw or id, it just does nothing.

I have updated windows, I have uninstalled and reinstalled....I don't know what else to do...any suggestions?

Hello. I use youtube website as music player quite often (without premium) and play my favorite list of songs. Meantime, when Google started meddling with youtube due to their new offer as youtube premium I met two most annoying issues like "are You still watching" dialog and the behaviour where youtube just cleared "repeat list" function without my consent. Both issues was resolved with java scriplets I took from community.

Now I run into third issue but not sure how to diagnose it. If Firefox is in the background, or tab with youtube has no focus the playlists stops from time to time. The moment it stops is when next video should start playing. When browsing on different tab, I can see on Youtube tab that title of the video has changed (to the next video) and even the song started (for 1-2 seconds) then video pauses and word "playing" disappears from tab (normally there should be title on tab and "playing" word under title). It is not "are You still watching" dialog issue because if I move mouse cursor on youtube tab (even without setting focus on it) the player will continue - till next song.

The issue doesn't appear if youtube tab is active. I can't use developer tools in firefox because can't debugging website when tab of the site is not active (at least I don't know how). I tried to find solution with community but with no success. I allowed youtube to play video and sound always without exception in firefox preferences but it is not the solution.

Any tips?

Due to repeated issues over a week, I uninstalled Firefox days ago. Tried to Reinstall it repeatedly on same device several times. It was working before..BUT it keeps showing its downloaded on Settings but Firefox download page keeps showing "DOWNLOAD" Tried several times. Not my computer. Nothing works to resolve it.. Windows 11..

I recently have gotten a message about manually updating Firefox on my Windows 11 system. Even after I updated, I then I started getting the same message and also "Failed to check for updates" in the Firefox "about" box and settings page.

I even went about uninstalling Firefox and reinstalling it while deleting the Firefox Program Files and user AppData directories. I also checked for a Windows Firewall entry for the program.

Is there something in another directory or registry setting I need to delete or change? Or does Firefox use a different program for updating that needs a firewall rule?

For the last several days I cannot access my gmail on my PC with firefox. I keep getting an error message that says:

I keep trying, but to no avail. Gmail works with Chrome on my PC. How can I fix this?

It has been observed that when a user uses the Firefox browser and tries to download a DDD file, the file format is .pdf instead of .ddd. In the devtools, it was observed that the content-type is text/plain in the response to the request. I changed the content-type to application/octet-stream, but the error still persists

New install of Firefox set up with a 'wrong' email account. Tried to use the 'Mozilla account' page to fix this by using secondary email and then making it primary. But the secondary email I want to use is not allowed by Firefox giving an 'Account already exists' error. What should I do?

I have played "Hero Wars,Dominion Era " for years on Fire Fox...They did an "update" last week(Thursday or friday 04/25-26?24)and I haven't been able to log onto the game itself since...I can still open the Hero wars home page,I can get into my "discord" chat etc etc etc,but I cannot get into my individual game.(If it helps,my Hero wars game ID # is 10920140)...I had to start playing the game itself on Google Chrome...I am hopeing you can help find a solution as everything I do is from Fire Fox & I really don't like chrome :(...PLEASE Help me resolve this if possible! ( Nexus suggested I use "Incognito" on FireFox ( I remeber that from a few yrs back,but honestly,i haven't used or seen "incognito" since :()

I am able to start FF with no problem. I open a few tabs and then without warning I can't access any of the sites without closing FF and restarting. Then the whole cycle is repeated. I am considering getting rid of FF this started just over a month ago.

It's not a local problem, it's also happening on other PCs/Laptops I have.

So within the past couple of days my twitter/x display setting suddenly switched to "Lights out" from "Default". I can reset it in t/x settings but if I close my browser it resets back to "Lights out" on reopen.

However, this same change happened with other browsers chrome and brave, but if I reset it on t/x it remains changed for those browsers if I close them and reopen.

When I say close I do not mean just that window/tab. I mean close the browser completely and restart it.

What do I need to do to get FF to retain this t/x setting?

Why is the text in tab names, address bar and menu boxes so small? I did the changes to about:config and the other one that comes up when I googled this question but, while they enlarge the text in those places, they make the page content too big.

A marquee markdown is not showing in every firefox version I tried (Normal, nightly and dev), none of those versions was showing this markdown. So I'm writing about that. I know it's new, but I think it's very good, and useful markdown.

Hello! I am trying to create my own theme using Firefox Color, but the custom image I uploaded doesn't show in the actual theme, only the little preview. It is definitely small enough, so I do not know what the problem is. Is this able to be remedied? I am adding a screenshot so you can best understand what I mean. I've just updated from 115.04esr to 115.11esr for macOS to the heap of unwelcome troubles. This experience is extremely unfriendly and annoyingly brazen on part of the Firefox developers.

Every time I launch the browser it starts up from its default profile, not mine. I lost access to all my themes, extensions, history, devices and settings as a consequence, and cannot regain it.

All efforts to launch FF from another profile upon opening of a new instance resulted in a dialog nagging me to move the app to /Applications even though I always kept it in a subfolder of my choosing, and intend on continuing to do so. Refusing to submit opens the default new Firefox profile in every instance.

Closing Firefox instances is impeded by a Chrome-like first-after-installation closure prompt asking to have the browser warn me every time I'm closing the browser. Repeatedly rejecting the prompt makes no difference.

The flatly blunt and pervasively arrogant manner, in which the new Firefox forces its way, is off the charts and is unacceptable.

Is there a straightforward way of restoring the old behaviour and telling it to honour my settings?
