I have filters set up to file emails to a second IMAP server email account. The filters are set up to copy then delete the email as the source is Gmail. When I get two emails in a row that match the same filter, the first email copies and then deletes as the filter specifies. The second email does not copy but does delete. The filter logs show that both copy and then delete.

This drives me nuts. I want Thunderbird to open links in a specified browser (not the default). I checked the https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/hyperlinks-in-messages-not-working#w_check-that-no-application-is-specified-for-the-http-content-type page and found no solution. In my settings > general > Files & Attachments I don't have any http/https entries. In the config I set the "network.protocol-handler.external-default" to false, "network. protocol-handler.warn-external.http" and "network. protocol-handler.warn-external.https" to true. When I click a link, nothing happens.

I'm on Fedora 42 (Gnome), tried both Fedora binary and flatpak. No luck so far.

I would appreciate your help.

I tried to connect to an existing Google-Mail account via 'new', 'existing mail account' etc.. Finally a Google-Login-Window appears. After inserting the username Google responses with a message, that my browser does not support javascript. However, both in thunderbird and in firefox javascript is enabled.

I have Norton security on my computer and I recently signed up for an advanced email scanning service, but when I try to connect it it says it doesn't work with Thunderbird. Is there a fix for this?

I am using both Outlook Web App (OWA, weaning myself off it) and Thunderbird. If I reply to a message using Thunderbird, both Thunderbird and OWA recognize that the message has been answered and they both add an arrow icon to the message. However, if I reply to a message using OWA, Thunderbird does not recognize that the message has been answered. Is that normal? Shouldn't it see the \Answered flag on the IMAP server?

I'm using IMAP on an Exchange server, and this happens with Thunderbird Beta 138.0b4 and Daily 139.0a1 (2025-04-23) under Windows.

By all, I mean images, json files that appear to be configuration for TB, not just remote http(s) links. This makes reading mails with inline images annoying at best, impossible at worst. The browser quickly fills up with rubbish.

Messages from some of the folders in Local Folders disappeared for no reason at all. The folder file and the .msf file though are not empty and if you edit them with a text editor you can see the messages. Also in the folder properties although the number of messages is 0 the folder size in not empty. Any ideas?

I have connected Thunderbird with my Zoho Mail account. Receiving and reading mails works flawless. But I cant send mails and gets an connection time out message.

Thunderbird on the Linux Fedora-40 workstation: unknown version (the workstation has since totally failed), but it was up to date as of the end of March 2025.

Thunderbird on the win-10 box: 137.0.2 (64 bit).

On my Linux Fedora-40 workstation, I backed up ($HOME)/.thunderbird (the whole thing) to a USB stick. Now I need to get all the Lightning calendar data (tasks, holidays, and so on) into Thunderbird on the win-10 box. I want the Calendar data only. 1. What do I need to copy? 2. Where in my win-10 box do I put the files that I should copy? 3. What other steps do I need to do?

TB 128.9.2esr Win64

If I click the 'spam' button on an unread message, or right-click it and select 'Mark as Junk' or if I do the same with a selection of unread messages, TB marks them all as read (which I'm unconcerned about) but doesn't apply the red Spam flag. If I then do the operation a second time the flag is set.

This appears to be new functionality - is it by design? Can this behaviour be changed?

Hello, sorry for the question but I can't solve it alone

My issue : I think my emails have been deleted. Its something like 500mb of content.

I'm on Windows 10; on 128.9.2esr version for Thunderbird.

You see how the path is structured: account@mail.com/inbox/... I moved my mails folders into the folder account@mail.com (instead of account@mail.com/inbox/) Closed thunderbird Restarted thunderbird

All folders at account@mail.com/ disappeared.

I tried to find them. I created a folder named "TestAccountFindThunderbird" I moved account@mail.com/inbox/TestAccountFindThunderbird into account@mail.com/TestAccountFindThunderbird Closed thunderbird Restarted thunderbird "TestAccountFindThunderbird" disappeared as well

and making a research on C:\ drive I managed to find TestAccountFindThunderbird.msf inside the folder at C:\Users\<my_account>\AppData\Local\Temp\MozillaMailnews

At the same place I found also the other things that disappeared from my mail account Health.msf, Apple.msf, Work.msf, Insurances.msf, Bank.msf, ... But they are all .msf files...

I saved them into a backup folder. Then I copy pasted all that content from backup to INBOX.sbd but when I open Thunderbird in a blink they are all removed. I guess its because they are .msf and not actual content.

1) Why when I move a mail folder into account@mail.com/ then the folder disappears/is deleted? 2) Where are my emails? And how do I reimport them? 3) Why do I have traces of them into AppData\Local\Temp\MozillaMailnews?

Thunderbird: Tools: Message Filters: I am trying to block all spam emails that begin with "admin@," but those spam emails are not blocked. I use "from" and "contains" admin@. How can Message Filters be set up to block any email from (begins with) "admin@"? Thank you.

When I transferred my mail from one computer running win10 to another running win11 with replacing ssd, the letters in the folders first opened and I can look at their contents, but then when I open the letter in the folder it shows me an empty window. Moreover, when new letters come from the server, they get into the folders according to the rules and do not open either. I use pop3 connection protocol Help me, what should I do to transfer my account without errors, I can post reports?

Years ago I created a local folder D:\mail for old mails nice to have, but not needed on the server. It works very well. But it seems that it is no longer possible to create a folder like that, separate from the rest. It seems that a new folder should either be created under the general mail account or under Local folders. So is this type a left over thing, no longer possible, but for a while maintained for compatibility?
