After opening a web site in a new tab and clicking on a link to navigate to a different part of the web site the back button doesn't change and I am unable to navigate BACK to the original page opened in the new tab.

No new add-ons or system changes. Problem occured in both Firefox3.XX before I updated and now also happening in Firefox4.0. I open a web site in a new tab. I click on an internal link to navigate to a different part of the web site. Under normal operation I would click the BACK button to return to the original page that I initially opened in this new tab. Instead, currently, when I click on that internal link the BACK button does not change color and does not function. I can't click BACK. The address of the original page shows up in my History tab but I can't use the BACK button to navigate to it. On some web sites it only happens on the initial window only, on others I have had it happen on EVERY link I click. Never happened before. Not currently happening in Explorer 8. I have turned off my add-ons.
