Firefox won't allow me to set a .qif format for importing bank transactions for Quicken; in preferences, it won't let me enter .qif as quicken interchange format; it will only register qif as "quicktime image format." Help...

Mac G4; OS 10.3.9; Firefox 2.2; Quicken 2005

Bank of America, Firefox, and/or Quicken quit recognizing the .qif file format when trying to import mortgage transactions.

When I try to import and open .qif format files, I get an error message from Quicken: This is not a valid Quicken file.

I know I have older software versions and OS, but qif is a pretty simple format so I'm puzzled that Firefox won't let me specify that "qif" is a Quicken file, not a Quicktime image format.
