I know I can have up to five devices for this, but will I be able to register my father's Firefox? How do I include his device using his browser or do I have to have him logged into my Firefox account?

He has to be logged into your Fx Account, but before that he must disable history/bookmarks/passwords Sync to not let your data mix together.
