Starting 3 days ago: Cannot SEND email - receiving works fine. Error message: An error occurred while sending mail. The mail server responded: Please ensure your email address and authenticating user match when sending messages. Please verify that your email address is correct in your account settings and try again.

The other odd thing is that I get asked for a password before sending which never happened before.

I followed advice given someone in 2022 - I've messed with the account settings (unfortunately) and I've changed the SMTP settings to match what Comcast recommends.

I have 3 comcast accounts; two work fine on my iPad and iPhone - one doesn't

Also I have no problem sending emails using Xfinity/Comcast Mail... but I want to use Thunderbird.

Where do I start looking?

I'm sure I've made the problem worse by trying to change the setup

Its driving me crazy. When I select a group of Inbox emails, and delete them, it is taking forever. The window will display a "not responding" message, eventually clear that and then the emails are deleted. But it takes way too long. Windows 11, most recent update. Thunderbird, it just updated. I was on a Win 10 computer, same Thunderbird version and deleting took merely a blink to happen.

Win 10 has both VPN AND AV. Win 11 has neither. Help! Thank you,

Hi, the site "https://pixabay.com/" is suddently extremely slow with mozilla. The pictures don't showup or take many minutes before you can see them. Normally only white boxes show. The same site (pixabay) with the browser "Opera" works perfectly. I always use mozilla and since a short while it just doesn't work with pixabay (a site for royalty-free images). hello tried a few things from help docs on line. nothing working. just keeps happening. tabs will say gah. your tab just crashed. works for a bit but once happens.... have to close whole firefox and open again. just started happening yesterday. I have used firefox for many many years never a problem. Something was not updated right. Please tell me how to fix this once and for all. if not I have to leave using firefox this is driving me crazy. terrible. Latest thing I tried was about:config - sandbox changed 2 items, 1 from true to false other from 6 to 0. as listed in this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_SIGynLjrjk

Have used Thunderbird for 10+ years, as interface to Gmail. Lovely product. 3 days ago I had to reinstall a station but when Thunderbird does its updating after reconnecting to gmail address for the 10GB of emails, it behaves damn irregular: - periodic freezes of mouse and keyboard, for about 0.3 seconds every 3 to 5 seconds. - Thunderbird message says downloading email number out of total number of emails (very slowly advancing) but every 3 seconds it starts downloading email 1 of those emails - station has cumulated some 20 hours working, most of these left to finish syncronizing. Usually in 2 - 3 hours there is time enough.

This happens only when Thunderbird runs, when I close it the station runs fine. Same hardware on the station as before..

Mam problem z kontem e-mail. Dotyczy on konta obsługi klienta sklepu internetowego. Od kilku dni maile z Amazon, Allegro, Emag itp w ogóle nie dochodzą. Nie wiem co jest tego powodem, nic w ustawieniach nie było zmieniane, stało się to z dnia na dzień. Jak mogę to naprawić?

Firefox 115.12esr slow to startup takes up to 10 second to load the first time now Firefox was fine in version 112.esr. to bad Firefox forces updates, even when the update make Firefox worse. https://snipboard.io/QF0ERT.jpg of course it works faster without extensions, that does not mean anything. I would reinstall the older version but Mozilla fixed so we cannot. I do not have time to reinstall all the extension so I am left with a useless Firefox. To bad Firefox does not allow reinstall of extension automatically, a reset of Firefox would also make Firefox useless; I am at a loss to how to continue to support Mozilla and not switch to another browser?

For some time now, when I download a .pptx, .xlsx og .docx Firefox changes the file format to .pdf when downloading the file. I then have to manually choose the correct app for opening the file, overrule error messages and delete the ".pdf" when re-saving the file even though it recognises it is not really a pdf file.

I've tried to change the Firefox settings, clearing cache, restarting or deleting in config and other small attempts to reboot whatever suddenly started to cause this problem. As far as I can see, it is not an unknown issue, but I've not yet been able to find a solution to my problem, which is getting on my nerves.

It has been one year, and you still have not fixed the multiselect functionality that was ruined with your Supernova "update" (which is worse in almost all aspects btw). Can you at least tell us WHEN you plan to release the fix since you locked the comments to block the countless negative ones? Is it so hard for your UX team to understand that removing multiselect functionality is like removing Ctrl+C, and Ctrl+V and set the correct priority???

I have used Firefox to access my Zoom accoutnfor several years. Today, the screen goes blank when I click on sign-in. This does not happen with other browsers on my PC. Help....

I have had some issues using Firefox and I was told that the website works better with Google Chrome by a support person. For the last recent issue, I was told a website doesn't work correctly basically with Firefox and that I needed to use Google Chrome or Edge. I recently received an email from Mozilla which had a link to an article titled, "Here’s what we’re working on in Firefox" at: link text and in the article in large print it says, "Bringing you the features you’ve been asking for." I didn't see any mention about increasing Firefox's compatibility with websites.

Hopefully, somehow comparability with websites will be made better.

For a while now, I've been having recurring issues with Firefox desktop freezing and becoming totally unresponsive. If there's any pattern to what causes it, I haven't been able to notice it; sometimes it happens as soon as I open the browser, sometimes it happens after several hours, sometimes it happens twice in ten minutes, sometimes it happens twice in a few hours (however, I can count the number of days it's happened less than twice in one day in the past few weeks on the fingers of one hand). When the browser freezes, it becomes totally unresponsive - it doesn't fade or display "Not Responding", and Task Manager shows nothing abnormal, but it doesn't accept any input at all, any video or other animated material that may have been displaying freezes, and it can only be "fixed" by force quitting from the task manager and reopening. This is exclusively a firefox issue; other programs open at the same time as the browser freezes are not affected.

The only real lead I have as to what could be going on is that sometimes, things don't freeze all at once, but in a cascading effect. For example, tabs, bookmarks, etc. might not highlight when moused over, but still accept the clicks, or selecting another tab might causes the address bar to display the URL of the selected tab, but the screen displayed in the window will not change. Once these cascading changes start, they generally progress to total freeze before I have a chance to do much with that information (only a few seconds), but it's unusual enough behavior to be worth noticing.

Things I've already tried that haven't fixed the issue:

• Reducing the number of tabs used and otherwise reducing Firefox's system resource usage has not impacted the problem in any way.
• Running in Troubleshoot Mode has not had a consistent effect on the problem (the most recent time I did, the browser ran stably for longer than I could stand to use the internet without my ad blocker, but this is only one data point in an already inconsistent spread; prior instances of the problem have occurred in Troubleshoot Mode)
• Disabling hardware acceleration has not fixed the issue.
• The issue has persisted through multiple refreshes and at least one full uninstall and clean reinstall.
• The issue persisted after creating and switching to a new profile multiple times.
• The issue persisted after renaming places.sqlite
• The issue persisted after clearing cache and cookies multiple times.
• The issue persisted after clearing downloads and history.
• And very likely some other stuff that I'm forgetting, I've been trying to fix this on my own for a while now.

When logging in to the online bank at DNB with Bankid, this error appears:

"A communication error has occurred. We are experiencing a communication error between your browser and the user site. The reason may be slow internet or problems with your browser. Try again in a little while. You can also try to delete cookies and browser data in your browser or try a different browser. Error code BID-5000 Reference DXP4VKOE Date 12/06/2024"

No other browsers show this error. I've tried Edge, Chrome, Vivaldi, Brave, CC Cleaner. The error starts after version 125.0.3. Today a new version 127.0 arrived. The same error appears.

I have uninstalled the latest version and reinstalled version 125.0.3. Then no error message appears. I have deleted cookies and browser data, but the error message persists. To your info, I've tried also on other PC's and the same Firefox version, and the same errormessage appear.

I look forward to you having a solution to the problem, otherwise I will have to use browsers that do not show this error. As I prefer Firefox, I don't want to use other browsers. But if the bug can't be identified and fixed in newer versions, I'm not happy with firefox and will use other browsers..
