I previously enquired and was given a ticket number 150321. I later replied to say that the problem had gone away. This proved to be very short lived. The problem is that drop-down menus are blank. Thus clicking on "New Message" button produces a minimised blank dialog. Thus I am unable to send new e-mails. Clicking on other links such as help, tools, file etc produces narrow blank dialogs. I am able to continue receiving and reading incoming e-mails. Re-starting the computer sometimes produces a short term improvement. I am using an AMD 6 core CPU 32-bit operating system, x64-based processor I am trying to use Thunderbird 115.9 on Windows 10. It used to work, but the recent, continuing malfunction might be due to an automatic update, but I was not aware of the version number until the malfunction happened.

Hi, No matter what I do I cannot send an email. I use spectrum and they say it is a Thunderbird problem and will not help. I have used Thunderbird for years with no problems and one of my computers does work. But this computer will not. Here is the error I receive: Sending of the message failed. An error occurred while sending mail: Outgoing server (SMTP) error. The server responded: impout002.msg.chrl.nc.charter.net cmsmtp 108.147.228.33 blocked. Where are by Thunderbird gmails stored? I am running two email server programs right now (Outlook and Thunderbird). Outlook stores gmail in the cloud and there are thousands of them, Naturally I do not want TBird to store all emails on my hard drive but I am told they are on my hard drive. If so this will eat up ALL my disc space. Where does TBird store my emails? If on my drive then how to I control how many are saved there and what will saved in the gmail cloud?

I’m wanting to include one of two sentences in my email depending on the content of a “Status” field, which will be either N or R. The syntax I tried was {{Status |N|Thank you very much for joining our Society. |Thank you for renewing your membership of our Society}} However, all the resulting emails contained the second text… Could anyone tell me what I am doing wrong please?

Upon upgrading to Supernova, 115.11.0 (64-bit) on Kubuntu I can no longer sent any messages to any of my mail servers. All are SMPT; gmail and other commercial servers. The hardware configuration is as follows: KDE Plasma V 5.27.11 KDE Frameworks V. 5.115.0 QT V. 5.15.13 Kernel V 6.6.6-0608-generic (64-bit) Graphics Platform Wayland Intel Processor i7-1260P Thunderbird was working fine prior to the upgrade. There were no crashes nor other sources of data corruption during the upgrade process. The original upgraded version was via snap; I have removed that version and installed the update from the bzip/tar on the Thunderbird site. I have attempted to restore profile data from known good sources with no luck. Thunderbird in --safe-mode still has the same problem. I have traced the issue down to what appears to be the primary error and filed a bug report (bug 1898759) in case I am not unique.

I've used thunderbird for a few years, but I think a recent change in outlook.com has messed things up.

My account is detected to use oath2 for authorization, but when I click "done", it tries for a while and then say "unable to log into serve".

What I expect is that it would bring up a web browser or something so I could do the oath dance to enter my credentials, but that doesn't happen.

I have 4 email accounts in Thunderbird that I have used for more than a year. Suddenly last week I got the following error when sending from one of the accounts: "Sending of the message failed. An error occurred while sending mail. The mail server responded: Requested action not taken: mailbox unavailable. Sender address is not allowed..Please verify that your email address is correct in your account settings and try again." I checked this account's settings to make sure they were identical to those of the other three. Finally, I deleted the account and re-added using the same information. I was able to send email for about 12 hours. Then, the same error returned. What is wrong? What should I do? Note that I can send email from this account using webmail on ionos.com, my website host where all the email addresses reside.

My Thunderbird account is synchronised to my BT mail account using IMAP

Although the folders that i have built in my BT mail box appear on Thunderbird the contents of those folders do not, all I have on Thunderbird is empty folders

Any ideas why?

Thunderbird Tech Support I need to look back at about a 5-year history of my e-mails and their associated conversation strings. If I move e-mail files from the Thunderbird “Inbox” to various “Archive” directories I’ve set up, will this resolve e-mail Disk Quota Limit warnings from my “Domainit” domain? Conversely, if I delete e-mails from my Domainit e-mail account, to resolve the Disk Quota warnings, will I still be able to bring forward the e-mails I’ve Archived in the Thunderbird directories. Or is it all far more complex than this? I would appreciate some guidance on this. Kevin Powell

I keep getting this error message as a popup window that needs to be closed out. It happens over and over again and it can pertain to Inbox, Junk, Sent, etc. It's just annoying but doesn't seem to matter. How can I get rid of it?

I have an issue trying to configure a secondary email account, for a non-profit I do some work for. It was ok in the past, though I recall was tricky to set up on TB a couple of years ago. But now it has ceased to function after I migrated TB profile (successfully apart from this issue) no matter what I try. I’d be grateful for any suggestions. As is the case with many non-profits, there’s little tech support, but others can use the email account ok. I think it may be a TB issue as I have been able to set up the account ok with MS new Windows Outlook app (lame, but better than Mail…low bar). I’d rather have this account on my TB client along with the others I use. And the issue is replicated on two of my PCs. TB account set up reports “can’t detect settings from host server”. I found a support thread link text, which says “The failure to detect settings is rather common where hosted domains are concerned. Mostly because everything is done to a price and most of the things around encryption are done in a halfhearted manner. As is the server setups for mail. However by faithfully copying the settings from the provider as to domains server name and ports it should work.” So I did manual configuration – copied the settings from the successful Outlook set up, but no dice – all I get is server time out message. Settings are: IMAP server: mail.XXXX.org.uk Port 993 Security SSL/TLS [earlier working settings were STARTTLS port 143] SMTP server: mail.XXXX.org.uk Port 465 Security SSL/TLS [[earlier working settings were STARTTLS port 587] And using Normal Password for both; I tried Autodetect too but no good. I’ve see a suggestion that turning off the firewall (Norton) might work, but I’m reluctant to do that and doesn’t seem to make sense that would cause the issue. What is the meaning of the various symbols I some times see next to messages in my Inbox? They're small, but some appear to be arrows?

Is there a list somewhere that would explain them all to me? That would be most useful!
