I accidentally started the upgrade to 115 and aborted it. The "What's New in Thunderbird 115" now pops up every time I run the "old" version (102.15.1). It is my practice to close all running apps at night before I have the computer go to sleep mode. Consequently I have this message starting my default browser every time I restart TB. It has become annoying. There must be something I can do to stop this. I looked in all the appdata directories but couldn't find anything obvious. I also looked in the update directory but nothing obvious to me there either. Can you provide a fix for this?

I have not upgraded to 115 because too many people are having problems of one sort or another. I do not want to search for help to patch problems resulting from the upgrade process. When problems settle down a bit more, maybe then.

After installing Thunderbird 115.10.0 (64bit) on a WIN 11 system yesterday program does not close fully. It will not restart unless I use Task Manager to delete what is running or else reboot system.

I have latest Thunderbird version (115.9.0 64bit) on fully patched Ubuntu 22.04.4 LTS.

I'm trying to get it to display Day-of-Week for old messages - is this possible? I have tried all sorts of combination as detailed HERE to no avail.

I'd like concise instructions on how to do this (if it can be done). I do not believe trying a new profile will work as I need to test this for old messages - at least for messages older than a week.

From the link above, I can the Day-of-Week to work for the current week - but that only displays the day and time. What I'm after is as shown in the attached Outlook screenshot. Also see the closest I can get that to match in the Thunderbird screenshot.

i just reinstalled my whole pc, win10 64. I exported my profile including all possible data, the .zip was too big to import so i copied it into the profile folder, on my desktop, in another foldet etc. But i always get the error message shown in the picture. This is my only chance to have access to my (partly) old email accounts... that's why i followed all steps, but i cannot import everything. I REALLY need your help and would appreciate it A LOT.

Every time I open TB email on my laptop I get the following page, which then exists as long as I am on TB. I can work-around this page to send and receive email. Here is the top half of the page:

Every few days, the index pane of some folder gets corrupted. Repair (right-click, Properties, Repair Folder) fixes it. Then a few days later this repeats, with a different folder. I have three IMAP accounts and this occurs on more than one of them.

Any suggestion for finding and fixing the underlying problem?

I have previously (about 1 month ago) connected without issue to my Ionos email account. Today it will not connect. I have updated all the POP3/SMTP settings, read from the Ionos site. I have re-entered the current password too. My Gmail account downloads fine, it is just my Ionos account that will not load. I don't get an error but the last mail showing is in March (2024) and I have had hundreds since then.

I use Thunderbird to get my COX and Gmail emails. When Cox moves to Yahoo what needs to be changed in Thunderbird to get my emails? I want to change the reminder sound. I already downloaded a MP3 file and I selected it on "Reminders", "Use the following sound file". I can see the window that pops up, but no sound is played. Also when I click on Play, it doesn't work. I know the sound file is fine, thus I can play it on my laptop. What should I do? Another question, is there any Add-on with Reminder sounds?

I have created two lists of email addresses to which I want to sent the same email. However I can't get the list into the address bar either To. CC or BCC. As there are some 20 addresses typing each address in the list, I had hoped that I would not have to type all of these again each time I send out an email. Any help would be most welcome.

I was able to change some of my message pane background by adding the following to the userContent.css file:

Why do I still get these two dark gray areas (see attached)? What css do I need to add to get them to be the lighter grey?

Hello, I did look for related posts but found nothing close enough to this so I thought I would create a post. I don't ever recall having this issue before v102 was introduced but now it happens once in a while but not always.

If I am in the inbox of my main mail account and choose to delete a message, it goes away and then reappears almost immediately. There is a box that shows up at the bottom right of the screen that says: The current operation on inbox did not succeed. The mail server for account (my main mail account is shown) responded: UID MOVE failed. This account is in Canada on the Bell Canada network so perhaps it is an ISP issue?

I have 3 mail accounts set up - all IMAP. If I close TB and reopen it, the message is gone as if it required the program to close in order to complete the delete request.

If anyone has experienced this and has any suggestions or tips, it will be greatly appreciated. - Thanks, Mike

When receiving emails they appear as normal but in the background is another email of a couple of pages which has sender and receiver details at the top then lines of letters making no sense for the rest of the message.

Everything is gone? All my organized folders, everything. It prompts me to set up everything again. It then gives more prompts I don't understand. What should I do? This is a disaster

My Thunderbird v. 115.10.1 (32-bit) Been using TB forever w/ GMail accounts Primary E-Mail is missing folders and has duplicate folders, one [Gmail] is inside the Inbox another is outside. Has [Sent] Doesn't appear to contain anything in either Junk and Trash folders. But, they do when I open GMail in my browser. My secondary E-Mail has no [Gmail] folder but does have Sent Mail, All Mail, Junk, Spam, Trash (empty), Trash and 3 that I created. This E-mail seems to function more completely. Is there a "repair install" a file to edit or something else to get me back to 100% operational? Can send folder properties if helpful. Image attached.

I've been having trouble trying to copy text to the clipboard (in all programs, not just TB) and fiddling around yesterday while trying to copy a paragraph from a TB message to insert it into a Word document, I've unintentionally b* up TB's inbox display. Previously it showed message headers on the left and senders on the right, in bold if as yet unread, and all close set (no spaces between lines). Now however it shows them in table form, with sender and header on the left end of each cell and the date at the right end. What do I have to do to restore the original display mode?

Can't print emails or any saved Thunderbird files. I click on FILE>PRINT and get the print preview, butwhen I click on "PRINT" I get a "printer offline message". I can print from Microsoft Word or PDF files and any other program. It appears that everything worked well until the latest Windows update was installed.

I am using an HP printer and print via HP's Smart Print software which I believe is the default. I'm not sure if this is a Thunderbird issue or another screw up by Microsoft.
