I cannot send or receive messages on my Thunderbird a/c. I Believe I have to firstly update my email password from my supplier (Spark New Zealand) but to date I have been unable to do this. When I tried to do this on line Thunderbird indicated they did not recognize my email account at all. What should I do?

I don't seem to be able to self help very good anymore, can someone please take the time to teach me / guide me through the steps ?

1. 1 can I set up Thunderbird to receive my Gmail email, and if so, how do I proceed?
2. 2: How can I set up Thunderbird on my iPhone?

After some intermittent problems, hopefully solved, I am now left with one main problem. When I send an email to agmail eddress it fails, saying something about SPF having a hard fail and no DDKM, whatever that means. If I send emails from webmail ro my iPad they get through. Can this be solved, please?

Thunderbird 115.12.1 (64-bit) on Linux Debian 12, I have several accounts in a panel on the left. When the accounts are collapsed, they unexpectedly expand and make it difficult to know which account's email I'm reading on the right.

How do I control that behavior, please?

On powering up my PC this morning, opened Thunderbird and everything was gone - email settings to my various accounts, settings, calendar, addresses etc nothing is left at all

All I have is a basic screen : "To set up your existing email address" etc

I've been trying to get Thunderbird (102.6.0) to filter messages based on message body contents that contain specific URLs (such as "https://docsend.com"), but it's not working. I even tried setting emails to be viewed in plain text (as opposed to HTML), but that also didn't work.

How can I achieve this?

I am running Thunderbird 115.12.1 (64-bit). I somehow turned on the number of messages and folder size and can't seem to figure out of to remove them. A colleague suggested I click the 3 dots to the right of the "New Message" but I don't see them at all. Please advise. Thank you!

Hi, my Thunderbird has brought down 279 emails from Gmail. I opened Gmail and found the emails properly in the Trash folder. So it appears that Thunderbird is bringing down all folders??? I've been a user for years and never notice downloads from spam or trash before. New change to Tbird? Is there some way to exclude spam and trash folders from download? My version is 115.11.1 (64-bit) TYIA Richard

I'm trying to change my signature on an account I've had for sometime. It lets me make the changes I want and when I try sending a message it works fine. However when I close Thunderbird down and re open it, the signature has reverted to the previous version. I can't see any option to save the changes to the account settings so they'll still be there next time.

I've tried it 2 ways - firstly editing the HTML signature text, and secondly attaching instead a signature file. In both cases it works fine until I close and re-open.

I keep getting "can't connect" message and I have to enter my password for outgoing mail. Incoming comes through no problem. How can I get Thunderbird to remember my provider password for outgoing? They obviously already have it for incoming.

I can not get thunderbird to stop opening a web page on start up. Deselect the "when thunderbird launches......." but it is turned back on once I close and restart

It actually opens my browser and opens a thunderbird donation page.....

After the update to 115.12.2 (64-bit) installed, I made a couple of changes to tasks and TB went sideways and crashed, and continued to crash upon startup every time I restarted, even after a reboot. So, I copied a backup of my AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird directory onto the TB AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird dir. Now TB starts, but I have only Mail and I see no way to get Calendar/Tasks back. How do I do that?

Compact folders: caused a saved draft email to disappear. Closing and re-opening Thunderbird resolves this. Suggest the help document https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/compacting-folders-potential-complications be updated to advise this solution (before the user raises an issue). How does this message get to someone who can action this?

Regularly the messages in some subfolders are doubled. I don't know why or how it was triggered. It is very annoying, because some subfolders contain a lot of messages. Since I don't know how to get rid of this double messages, except by deleting them by hand one at the time, it is a very time consuming matter. I tried repairing the folder, but that didn't work. I already have had a folder where all messages were doubled several times. So every message was there six, seven, or eight times! Is there somebody with an explanation and - preferably - a solution to prevent this?

I just downloaded and installed Thunderbird.... I fire it up and the "three lines" button I need to click to add my email account details does nothing. So the software is not doing much at the moment. I don't know what to do. I uninstalled. Restarted...and reinstalled...but this did not work. What am I doing wrong here?

I have six IMAP email accounts that will cease to exist in a few weeks when I don't renew the domain/hosting where they reside.

Most of these accounts include invoices for purchases, and serial numbers etc that I need to have access to after the accounts will die, so just being able to read them offline. Even down the track when I inevitably build a new PC, I'll still want to have access to theses messages offline.

What is best practice for archiving or backing up these so I can still read them in future? Is there a way to archive so that I can read them in other clients in future? or I can only archive in a way that will be Thunderbird only?

Also... how do I get Thunderbird to allow me to read the messages from these accounts, without checking for new messages on these accounts, which would give error popups every time?

I've never had to do this before, and when I've searched around the results seem super confusing.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

In case its relevant, my current Thunderbird version is 115.12.1 and running latest update of Win 10.

Yahoo Mail was down for HOURS last night. When it comes back up overnight, I can login to my secondary emails (Yahoo.com) but the correct password for rshearin@verizon.net responds "server error"

Yahoo washes their hands of it because it's a "third party app."

I have been using Thunderbird a long time and I have emails going back about twenty years. This means that the built in import/export feature is hopeless. So I copied the entire Thunderbird folder to the new computer. I was able to transfer thousands of emails, but when I looked more closely I saw that my new Thunderbird only went back about 2 years. I would be very grateful if someone could tell a way to make it include the missing older emails.
