Hey, I can't add new filetypes to the handlers.json Who had this before? I have already reset Firefox, deleted handlers.json, used safe mode... all without success For example, when I click on a ZIP file, the "save as" menu opens immediately. In the FF settings this filetype does not appear. So I can't define how to handle new files. I have also tried the addon "Content-Type Fixer Content-Type Fixer".

I'm going to copy paste the text from another question as it seems to have been archived with no solution. This has apparently been a problem since at least 2018. It's really weird that the devs took away the options to remove recentlyBookmarked from the about:config. This might be a dealbreaker for me. Anyway the copy/paste:

Advice for previous Firefox versions suggested right clicking on the Library to get a context menu that allowed you to uncheck "Recently Bookmarked" Other advice suggested hacking "About:Config" to set the key "browser.bookmarks.showRecentlyBookmarked" to "False" is now defunct because the key no longer exists, and recreating the key in Firefox 80 doesn't appear to have an effect.

So, how do I clear the "Recently Bookmarked" foder, or turn it off?"

I have set the Noto family of fonts to be the default font family but websites that don't specify a font or specify sans-serif or monospace get Liberation Mono. When I changed any option in the fonts settings, the entire browser becomes Liberation Mono. I want Noto Sans be the default font for websites and for the Firefox UI. I tried to fix it by preforming a Firefox Refresh, but it didn't work. I think the problem began after upgrading to Firefox 100 but I'm no 100% sure.

Firefox just updated to v100.

However, my menus (e.g., bookmarks, tools, history etc) and popups text has become black, having previously been white. The Menu Bar and Tabs text are still white.

How do I get the White text back on menus and popups please?

Firefox 100.0 Ubuntu 22.04 Mozilla VPN 2.8.0

As the title says, Multi-Account containers doesn't detect the VPN, which means that it's not setting the VPN for specific containers.

I suspect this is actually a problem with the "Allow extension to exchange messages with programs other than Firefox" permission. Could be a VPN issue, but gut feeling that it's a Firefox issue, TBH

It seems since Firefox 100 the address bar has taken to being white-on-white, making it nearly impossible to read. There isn't any issues with light themes. It doesn't matter if I change the Windows 10 default app mode to light or dark. Light themes have black text on white background, but dark themes have white text on white background. Any ideas?

I don't want the tabs + search bar to show when the mouse reaches the top of the screen while in full-screen mode, I have tried "userChrome.css" solution provided in this link "https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1092572", but it didn't work for me, I would appreciate any help, thank you.

If i want to open files into an application i do not want the files to clutter up my downloads folder.

this used to work perfectly pre-v91.

i understand that some users were confused where their files went when they opened them incorrectly within firefox.

currently i'm using a python script to clear my downloads folder from the useless files, but i'd rather just not have to bother with it.

is there a way to get the old behavior back? im comfortable going into about:config and/or using a plugin if i have to.

The Firefox desktop browser default font is replacing all fonts on some websites, only title fonts on some others, and then leaving others unchanged. It seems random, and I can't stop the default font from taking over randomly on most websites no matter what I do. This was not happening until today, and no browsers or general MacBook Air preferences were changed between today and yesterday when I last used the browser on desktop.

Under Firefox Preferences » Fonts » Advanced, I've made sure to check the box to "Allow pages to choose their own fonts instead of your selections above", and I've unchecked it, and I've re-checked it, and the default is still overriding fonts on most websites.

I've quit and restarted Firefox 3 times.

how can I restore to white, the black background on the Firefox Browser, even my menus have turned black. I have tried through my normal settings and although it states I have a white background. It doesn't

I don't have the Use the address bar for search and navigation checked, though I do have the Add a search bar to toolbar enabled, when I am on the Firefox Homepage I have the Web Search turned on, when I try to type something in the homepage search, it automatically redirects the text to the address bar area which is where I want the address bar stuff, not the omnibus search that everyone explodes all over their pants over, so the search area is rendered useless.

I have never wanted, do not want, and will never want any website to push notifications to my desktop computer. I don't even really want any websites (or your browser) to push notifications to my phone.

Fuckin let me block them with a global settings policy instead of having to click the no button for every piece of shit website that thinks I care about them enough to get nagged in my free time

Is it possible to move the address bar above or below the Bookmarks Toolbar in Firefox 100.0 (64 bit). If not, can you provide a link to the latest version of Firefox for Mac OS X Catalina (10.15.7) that does not have the address bar on the same level as the Bookmarks Toolbar.

It never used to do that ! Having the Downloads panel drop down and just sit there covering a large part of the page every time I save a little picture is an extreme nuisance ! How do I prevent it from happening ? Please help ! Many thanks !

I always use the current Firefox on two Macintosh browsers running OS 10.14.6.

Recently (in only one of the computers), if I download a file, a pane containing recent downloads opens in the upper left-hand quadrant. This is distinct from the downloads portion of the "Library" area, and gets in the way of my ability to use Firefox efficiently.

I can't seem to find a way to keep this pane from repeatedly opening up as I download things. Can anyone help?

Several months back, for some unfathomable reason, you eliminated GoodSearch as one of the eligible default search engines users can select. Given its squeaky-clean reputation and charitable nature, I can't for the life of me understand WHY. And just how much begging and grovelling will it take to persuade you to restore it to the available options?? *P*L*E*A*S*E*!!!!!!!

Firefox only uses custom minimize/maximize buttons when I select show toolbar. When not selected, it seems to use the windows 10 window decoration. I am using arch linux with kde plasma and firefox 100. Is there any way for firefox to use the system wide minimize/maximize buttons
