I have downloaded the 6.0 version several times and moved it to my applications, but it still runs the 3.0 version. I have a MAC, and I cannot get it to use the newer version.

I have downloaded the updates for Firefox when they pop up, and move them to the applications when they are down loaded. I have done this 3 or 4 times. Still, my computer runs the older version. I have moved the icon to my task bar and followed all other directions, yet it is not running the newer version. How do I get the computer to pick up the newer version which is clearly available?
