list of emails window "jumping" when deleting an email

Since the last update (115.4.2 (64-bit)) I frequently get this very annoying behavior: I delete an email in the window that shows the list of emails in a folder, and immediately the list jumps one or two (or more) pages away from where I just deleted an email. I then have to scroll around to try to find where I just was in my list of emails. What's going on?
