Unable to sign in to server from Thunderbird

I am getting server xxx.xxx.com has disconnected. everytime i restart thunderbird. I have several mailboxes on the same server and I am only getting that error message on the 1 mail box. I am able to access the mailbox via web mail. the last 2 day i have created a new profile and have been able to copy my setting over and it works fine for the day but the next day it doesnt. any ideas?
