Why would Firefox use my camera?

While I was using another app I received a notification from my phone that Firefix was using my camera. Why?

You had loaded a website that requested the camera permission. Firefox itself does not use the camera. It only forwards requests from websites.

One of the ones you had open. We have also seen some reports of ad networks requesting access to cameras/microphones.
