Using Firefox for Android, I have to tap the address bar to bring up my bookmarks. Unfortunately, tapping the address bar causes the keyboard to pop up, thereby obscuring the very bookmarks I was looking for in the first place. This means I have to dismiss the keyboard using the back button before I can fully view and scroll through my bookmarks. Is there a way to directly access my bookmarks without invoking the keyboard?

Russ_G Yes, you can open a new tab and check out the bookmarks panel. It will act as a file manager sort of. I hope this helps.

Thanks for the suggestion. it is an improvement for sure, if not an outright optimal solution. It does get you directly to he bookmarks panel without invoking the keyboard, but the kludge is that now you have a second, new tab that must be eventually dismissed. It seems the root of the problem is the way the bookmarks panel is designed to be called up, which is to touch the address bar. It doesn't seem improper to me that touching the address bar would invoke the keyboard, since it would seem logical that if you are tapping the address bar, you would likely be wanting to type a url or search string. What seems to be missing is a dedicated button to call up the home screen panels directly, realizing thee there is no need for a keyboard when doing so. Screen real estate is in short supply, but it would seem that there would be plenty of room to install just such a button next to the forward, back and refresh buttons, or just underneath by the bookmark and share button. Yes you would have to tap the menu button to access this location, but that doesn't seem like such a high price to pay, and it would gain you access to the home screen without invoking the keyboard or a new and unnecessary tab
