When I click the Firefox icon, which i have pinned to my task bar, Firefox is very slow to open. I believe this is because the Firefox updater is running in the background checking for updates to Firefox. It seems to do this before it will open and allow the user access to the browser. This can be very frustrating. Is there a way, and if not, there should be, to configure Firefox to check for updates after the browser is up and running? Start-up time can be the most important feature of a browser. Slow start-up time for Firefox can make a user think that it is their system that is unresponsive or running slowly, when it is really a slow start-up time for the browser itself. As mentioned above, I believe the slow start-up time for Firefox is due to the Firefox updater running in the background first. When the Firefox icon is clicked the Firefox updater appears to access the Internet and check for updates to Firefox prior to opening. Again, this can make one's system seem unresponsive; is there a way to configure Firefox not to do as described above?
