Ever since the revamp I have a lot of trouble with typing a search phrase in the address bar. After hitting enter, nothing happens. Hitting the magnifying glass: nothing. Selecting an alternate engine: nothing.

I have not noticed a definite pattern, but I want to say that it is more frequently occurring when I'm searching from a previously-opened tab (maybe something to do with trying to search from a tab that never fully opened? Just a guess.) It is not a connection problem- I switch to chrome: no problems. I want to continue using firefox, so I am writing this, but it is annoying enough that I will be forced to uninstall and use another browser if the problem persists. Good luck folks, I support Mozilla's mission and want y'all to continue to succeed

I have a Galaxy Note9 and images downloaded from the Firefox(v80.1.3) app have no date information. This causes them to not show in the gallery app, not until I restart my phone or rename the image in my local storage/downloads folder.

It seems to only affect Firefox as I have tested it on chrome and the Samsung browser and they all work fine. I've even tested different images and sites, all to the same effect. This all appeared after Firefox recently did an update on the app, which is why I suspect its a Firefox issue.

Is there anyway to resolve this issue.

The lastest version of firefox for android just does not work on my phone, whats the last version of mobile firefox where i actually have the abillity to stop these updates. As of now i have to reinstall an old version every time i walk past an open wifi but i dont know how far back i have to go before i can disable updates.

Removing the abillity to stop updates is crippling if you have issues, this is a major oversight and it should never have been taken away.

I use Firefox to listen to cricket or music from the BBC whilst I drive. ie https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/live:bbc_6music

However audio only comes through when the browser is the active screen, when its replaced by Maps then music playback stops.

Spotify and other apps do not have this issue.

Unsure if its a setting or a bug that it only plays back when its the active screen. This is Android v10 on a Pixel 4 with Firefox 80.1.3

I was told I should 'ask' a question to keep my post from being locked. So that's what I've done. I realize too that it is largely volunteers answering here, so my ire is not directed at you, but hopefully the developers and decision makers might hear this.

With the 79.0.5 update, Firefox had become a total pain. The interface is confusing, so much so that I have given up using it. I tried, but could never find many of the functions and features I always use. And there's really only so much time I want to spend - and should be expected to spend - learning how to use a once-beloved app.

And some of the developer feedback hasn't been helpful, like being told that they simply can't (or is won't the proper word here?) return to a more familiar - and much more user-friendly - interface.

So, I had to switch to Opera as the default browser on my Android tablet - and even though it is a different interface than what I was used to with FF, I was up and running with just a few minutes spent learning the new app. That's how it's supposed to be. (Oh, and I no longer have all the PDF download failures I had with FF!)

I've had the new version of Mozilla Firefox for Android for a week. Plenty of unpleasant problems, among which: I can't listen to the radio anymore. When the screen goes into power-saving mode, the player stops (sometimes it doesn't stop immediately). Same when I visit another tab (keeping the one with player open of course). I usually listen to the radio when I'm having a shower, you can imagine how annoying it is to have to type my 4 digit code on the screen every 2 minutes (because my fingerprint won't be recognised with wet fingers).

As of the last update.. or so I believe.. video playback, more specific, buffering for videos stops when I close my screen or switch to another tab.

Up until now I have had no problems with videos playing in the background while my phone was closed or I was in another application other than firefox.

This recent update seems to have stopped this. When I close my phone the video WILL keep playing, but only up until the point that it had buffered to. I always use background mode.

I have read about websites checking to see if your phone is closed and if it senses this, it will restrict background data.

I don't know why websites have to do this... it's incredibly frustrating since this has worked in the past seamlessly.

I love firefox and use it for all my browsing on all my devices but now I am using the Brave browser on my phone because I have no other current option to use background data.

If brave can offer this simple function with the press of a button, why can't firefox?

Why don't you test what you do?

That's the question I ask myself, when I see this type of problem.

If the person is creating an account on the cell phone, they will receive a code in the email. You need to open the email to copy the code.

Upon returning to the browser, the page waiting for the code is reloaded. And with that it is no longer possible to enter the code and the email is blocked forever.

If you ask to change the password you do not recognize the email. If you ask to create an account you recognize the email but do not allow entering the code. And so the account cannot be activated. I had to use another email.

Dear Community,

my small Tech-Startup has an browser based software for craft enterprises based in the fire alert sector.

We advise our customers to use firefox on their androids.

For save using our web based software, the possibility for voice sounds in background or standby mode is nesessary. We use for that No sleep JS in combination with var msg = new SpeechSynthesisUtterance(); var voices = window.speechSynthesis.getVoices();.

We understood the reason stopping abuse on Youtube, sure they need to earn money.

But if we dont get any workarround or help we are forced to leave the plattform firefox and create own app, this is for the users not best solution and us as small start up with 10 customers will cost much money.

Thanks for helping us :)

Most pages I try to get to ever since the update won't load. I get "Sorry. Firefox can't load that page." After several of those crashes, every page just ends up a blank white page.

Some pages do load, like Google. Many pages won't load at first and will load on a second try, like reddit or YouTube. Some pages won't load at all, like DoorDash and IMDb.

I've disabled my antivirus and firewall temporarily to make sure they weren't blocking anything, but it didn't help. I couldn't get to network settings anymore because the update won't let us access that.

I've tried switching to Desktop Site and it just gets a blank page.

I've deleted the cookies and cache. Didn't help.

I've rebooted the phone and run a scan just in case. No luck. This all appears to have happened because of the recent update.

Any thoughts?

Is there a way to disable the automatic zoom whenever you focus a text field on a web page? I had to switch to another browser on my android device as this feature makes mobile optimized sites really annoying to use. This should be turned off by default and should be an option on the accessibility settings.
