After every AUTOMATIC update my bank has to text or call me with a verification code. Somehow, I've fixed this in the past, but after this last update I can't find an answer. Other browsers have no problem. Why is Firefox so damn complicated?

This message is from a concerned life long Firefox user and a life long staunch Firefox advocate. I have resisted IE, Chrome, Safari and all the big tech browsers for well over a decade. Now, sadly, I had to dump Firefox and switch to a Brave clone.

It appears that Firefox has joined the cancel culture mob.... The censorhip cheerleaders.

If the filth in this article is indeed the company view, I cannot in good concience use firefox: https://blog.mozilla.org/blog/2021/01/08/we-need-more-than-deplatforming/.

Dump Mitchell Baker. Retract the blog. Have her put it on her personal wordpress. Anything. Please. I want to use Firefox again, but with this sick world-view at the helm, I cannot support it.

I was very glad with SSB and use it a lot in my workflow but suddenly it stop working in the 86 version update. Now I know that it is no more supported and I started a dangerous practice of installing 85 version and omit updates (in fact this is not too useful because I accidentally update my firefox two times and have to manually reinstall the 85 version). I now this was an experiment but is a shame they stop supporting this kind of progress. My question is, is there an alternative to SSB currently implemented? Which is the closer form of such experience that can I get from command line? I mean: features like new window, no toolbars, independent (no open links in the tabs of previously opened window), could it be resources independence too? Thanks you beforehand.

I'm trying to install and use a digital security certificate on my MacBook Air (2020). The OS is Big Sur 11.2.2

Currently, the certificate shows as installed, but I can't download a backup to install it on Thunderbird to use for digitally signing emails. The tutorial article from the digital certificate company seems to be for an older version of Firefox, or perhaps the Mac version is different enough that the steps don't line up. Either way, one of the steps is to "Enable FIPS" and I have not been able to do that. I can find the option to enable FIPS, but it is greyed out and I haven't been able to find any information on how to fix that.

Preferences/Privacy & Security / Security / Certificates / Security Devices

Clicking on the certificate itself in the Device Manager list shows the status as logged in and the options that are available on the right side are Log out, Change password, and Load, but Enable FIPS is grey.

The great thing about DNS over HTTPS is that it's done at Application Layer. However, Firefox doesn't leverage this - producing a boilerplate response when DNS response failed.

I'm using NextDNS with P O R N category blocked, with https://dns.nextdns.io/XXXX as my TRR (and network.trr.mode is "3")

When NextDNS does its job and responds with Server failed, Firefox should be able to produce an informative response to the user, rather than "Firefox can’t establish a connection to the server at P O R N .com." which is more about connectivity than DNS failure.

Feature Request: Firefox be more informative DoH DNS failures?

Stretch Feature Request: if network.trr.mode is "2", Firefox passively notifies user that preferred method failed.

I set my primary password yesterday since I was leaving my laptop with a service person. Today, Firefox tells me the password is incorrect. I am entirely confident I know what I intended the password to be, and it seems wholly unrealistic that I made the same typo twice in one entry, yet I've trial and errored almost every possible typo I can think would cause this. I am really not sure what to do now, all my accounts are locked behind a password that is not the one I set less than 24 hours ago. What can I do?

FIrefox on WIndows, MacOS and Android is not automatically filling in website username and passwords. I have to click the logon for each website. Firefox usually autofills the correct username and password. But on some websites Firefox then offers to again save the password but its the WRONG PASSWORD, not the pw that was just used to log on to that website. As such Firefox has become onerous compared to every other browser that remembers and accurately automatically logs on to a website. The settings appear to be correct, I "refreshed" Firefox (no extensions, never had an added password manager)---still braindead. Short of using a different browser that actually works, which I mostly do now, is there any way to get Firefox to work correctly on any platform? Until it became unusable Firefox was my preferred browser.

I am relatively new to FireFox, so I might be missing the obvious, but here's what I'm (unsuccessfully so far) trying to accomplish: To run different Firefox profiles (each on a separate IP address) simultaneously on my Mac and be easily able to tell the different profiles apart through a little icon, or whatever. I thought I hit pay dirt when I found the following article, but it's from 2008 and I cannot get it to work: https://spf13.com/post/managing-multiple-firefox-profiles-in-os-x/

For one, it tells me that I already have an instance of FireFox and cannot have another, when I try to open more than one profile. Secondly, I cannot figure out which profile is which (for example Chrome Users have little icons, so you can easily tell which one you're looking at). I read through the Profile Manager article, but didn't find the answers I was looking for. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I am logged in to Firefox and I have my password which is kept in a password manager. I also created a recovery key a while ago. But when I checked my account lately, I noticed that Firefox shows I have no recovery key. So I tried to recreate it and then I am asked for my password. I enter the password and Firefox does not recognize it!!! I am quite sure my password is correct but now it seems that strangely I am locked out from my account. If I try to change my password I am afraid my old password will not be recognized. This is a mess! Can anyone help to put things in order? Right now I am logged in and all is fine but what if I have to logout and login again? I have no idea if my password will work...
