I am experiencing problems when using Duolingo, which is highly interactive.

This same problem was highlighted in Version 95.0.2 from a Windows user. The waveforms on System Monitor/ Resources are the same.

I am using Fedora and have 16GB ram. Have just ordered another 16GB ram, but think this problem is so severe that no amount of ram will fix it.

When I browse carsales.com.au and redbook.com.au I get the error message:

We want to make sure it is actually you we are dealing with and not a robot.

Please click below to access the site.

Why is this verification required? Something about your browser’s behavior has caught our attention.

There are various possible explanations for this:

You are browsing and clicking at a speed much faster than expected of a human being.
Something is preventing JavaScript from working on your computer.
There is a robot on the same network (IP 180.150.36.41) as you.

I have accessed these websites many times previously without problem. Other websites appear ok.

I'm on Windows 10 pc.

Firefox version: 102.0 (64-bit) System: Windows 10 21H2

I recently downloaded a file that may have had some sort of virus or malware. The file came up negative in Windows Defender and Malwarebytes but I deleted it anyways; however, I still get a download popup every time I open Firefox telling me that "This file contains a virus or malware." I've cleared the download library and browser history (cookies, cache, etc.) but I still get the popup from the Firefox.

Is there any known fix for this? Thanks!

I've installed Firefox 105.0.3 on a machine with a fresh installation of Windows. I've left the machine running overnight. The next morning, Firefox stops loading pages. When I check C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox, I can see that Firefox.exe has a file date of July, instead of October: all the files in this folder are now for version 102 instead of 105. This has happened several times in a row now. What could be causing this problem?

When I open gmail in Firefox browser, I lose the connection very often, it also happens with google drive. But it does not happen to me if I use Outlook from the web, I only lose the connection with Google from Firefox.

However, if I open the same thing using Google Chrome, this does not happen, it works correctly throughout the day, and I do not lose the connection.

My version of Firefox is 100.0.2 (64-bit) on my notebook I have Windows 10 Pro installed.

Clicking on the spacebar, does not produce a space between words, when typing text. I'm using a Mac Mini M1, on macOS Monterey (V 12.4), along with a Logitech MX Keys for Mac keyboard.

This happens randomly, for instance, on this very message. I previously posted a question regarding another problem that I came across with the same hardware and Firefox.

I found the solution to that problem by disabling an Extension in Firefox, however, I can't begin to think where to look for what setting, that may be causing my current problem.

Hi,

My partner has an issue with Google working within Firefox (FF). The problem started around 27 April 2022.

In short:

    • Both gMail and Google Drive keep saying “Ooops … the system encountered a problem (#2003) - Retrying in x s…” and “Not Connected”.
    • The above message may stop for a period and then gMail within FF fails to render its pages properly. Icons go missing. For example the check boxes to the left of the emails disappear while the remainder of the subject lines remains. Menu icons across the top of an open gMail document disappear (like Download, Report Spam and Delete icons ….). This seems to suggest a cache issue.
    • Search within FF using Google fails also. After entering search terms and pressing ENTER, nothing happens.

Note:

  • The stand-alone Google Chrome environment works fine. So gMail, Google Docs, Sheets etc work OK in the stand-alone Google Chrome app.
  • Duck Duck Go search works within the FF browser.
  • I have noted that if I simply log into MY Google Account under Firefox on her PC the same problem occurs.
  • If we log into my PC the problem is not apparent using either of our Google Accounts. So it appears to be an issue on her PC.

I have tried :

  • Flushing the cache in FF for all time, including data. Then rebooted.
  • We have followed your procedures under “Help” ie Runs a Firefox a tune up; used “Diagnose issues” and “cleared the startup cache”.
  • Have run Sophos AND MalwareBytes across the whole laptop. No PUPs or malware detected.

I uninstalled FF using Revo Uninstaller which initially uses the standard FF uninstall exe then it scans the drive for removes all FF files and entries within the Registry; then I re-installed the latest version of FF. Rebooted. No luck here either. I assume there is some remnant file that remains on the hard disk as some settings are retained after a new install.

Hardware: Lenovo ThinkPad , model 20QFS00B00. OS: Windows 10 Pro, vers 10.0.19044 Build 19044, 64 bit Firefox browser: is up-to-date; vers 99.0.1 (64 bit)

I can't find any recent issues related to this specific problem. Please advise what to try next.

Of course I'm happy to provide additional info if required or work through different scenarios to isolate the issue(s).

Thanks in advance for any assistance, Steve Gee

Well, I have applied all the options about proxy settings with the same result of long time for opening websites when first start of firefox. During these months I took notice to the one point, i.e. if I open website using firefox in the earlier morning there is no problem with the speed of opening as well as if I open another browser of edge the last one opens website without any delay. So the challenge of long time opening websites when the first start of firefox is still in force. How to resolve this?

When playing music on music.youtube.com, if I navigate away from the tab, by either moving to a different tab or opening a different application the music pauses. This happens consistently with two different Firefox profiles.

I admittedly have a quite a few plugins installed, so I tested this in a private window and this issue does not occur.

I attempted disabling the obvious plugins UBlock, 'I don't care about cookies', and Tampermonkey without any success. I also tried using a different user-agent without any success.

I got sick of Winblows and it's been awhile since I ran Linux so I am now on my third flavour in about 2 months - Manjaro, Debian Bullseye [Mate] and my current daily driver Kubuntu. I think Kubuntu is a keeper (until I re-familiarise myself with the Linux OS - maybe a year or two) but still testing.

My issue is that on everyone of the 3 flavours I have tried Firefox is the main browser by default and I use it as my default on Winblows also for about 25 years or so in it's various incarnations (IE Netscape)

My issue with this is Firefox on Winblows rarely if ever crashes ()I can't recall the last time Firefox on Winblows crashed it was that long ago) but on Linux this is a completely different story.

ON Manjaro it crash 4-10 times randomly per hour. ON Mate it as fairly stable but still crashed 4-10 times per evening session (usually 5PM to about 11 or 12 PM) On Kubuntu it as unstable at first but then I got some updates and thing became stable for about a week or so - and by stable I mean 1-2 crashes every few days - so not stable but stabler. I just installed the nvidia driver version 515.x.x for my Nvidia 1070 and immediately after the reboot Firefox started crashing on every single tab I opened. I would re-open it and 10-30 seconds later it crashes again.

After 5 minutes or os of crashing a firefox update magically appeared to upgrade to version 106.x.x. and so I took it thinking it might make things better. It did not make things better. It made things MUCH worse, now it crashes everytime I try to open it.

I ALWAYS have at least 2 browsers installed just because of BS like this. I opened up Vivaldi 5.5.2805.42 and it opened, did not crash and is still open. I am tying this post for help using it.

Firefox extensions installed : ublock, newtab URL redirector,WebRTC(permanently disables WEbRTC and = keeps it disabled through updates, download helper and that's it.

Vivaldi extensions installed: uBlock, download helper - vivaldi doesn't need a new tab URL redirector because it has a configuration for newtab URL - as all browsers should (hear me Mozilla!), doesn't need WebRTC as it also has a configuration for this to turn it on or off and upgrading Vivaldi retains all config settings always and everytime I use it and update it - which admittedly is not nearly as much as Firefox and I am going to keep an eye on that one configuration for sure.

I want to use firefox, I really do, I love it - even through all the changes over the past few years I still love it -even though I HATE some of the changes. That being said it needs to be stable on my OS of choice.

I donate to the Mozilla foundation because I like their efforts on net neutrality and privacy. I also donate to varios net neutrality and privacy orgs such as the EFF and openmedia to mention 2 more. I am going to try to downgrade my firefox version because in my short Linux experience that usually does the trick. However the minute I decide Firefox is not stable enough on linux and swap out to Vivaldi instead my donation money goes from Mozilla foundation to the Vivaldi developers. NOW thats not a threat, I am sure the Mozilla foundation wont miss my $60.00 yearly but, it can;t just be me thats disappointed with Firefox on Linux and in fact google searches shwo me it is not.

Are politics more important than the MAIN PRODUCT of the Mozilla foundation? If not you gotta show Firefox on Linux some more loving because there are millions of firefox users round the world who are disappointed by my basic non-scientific search results and reasoning - which cannot be far off.

I mean - it won't even start and it constantly crashes when it does start.

Hello

I have just updated firefox 103.0 64bits on my pc windows 10. And bigs bugs : all web pages became huge zoomed at around 150 - 160% !

I managed to fix the huge zoom problem by installing this firefox extension : https://addons.mozilla.org/fr/firefox/addon/zoom-page-we/?utm_content=addons-manager-reviews-link&utm_medium=firefox-browser&utm_source=firefox-browser

and setting all web pages to 90% zoom with it. But this is not a solution because firefox has to fix this bug since this update! :(

And the toolbar has become much higher, which decreases my screen height, it was better before! :( See my screenshot where i circled in red the height of the toolbar which has become higher! :(

even the tab bar has become higher! :( i managed to reduce it a little in height thanks to a code that i inserted in the file userChrome.css ,but the result is not beautiful : the texts are too flush with the line ( see my screenshot where i circled in blue the tab bar that i reduced with code in userChrome.css )

Greetings:

First experienced: Friday, Sept 2, when using burpsuite/foxyproxy during a hackerone CTF.

When using other Vbox instances on the same computer I have the same issue. This issue is usually easy to duplicate when using dev-tools or by simply doing an image search and moving the mouse across the images.

Host: Ubuntu 22.04.1 LTS 5.15.0-47-generic #51-Ubuntu SMP Two different VGA controllers are present: Intel CometLake-S GT2 AMD/ATI Ellesmere Radeon RX

VirtualBox: 6.1.34_Ubuntu r150636 (Qt5.15.3) VirtualBox VGA: VMware SVGA II Adapter

Guest: Kali 2022.3 rolling 5.18.0-kali5-amd64 #1 SMP PREEMPT_DYNAMIC Debian 5.18.5-1kali6

Crashes have seem to involve input from the mouse and scroll function within the browser. Once, let us call it a glitch, the crash can either take place while continually moving the mouse around the browser's page or immediately outside the page with the mouse. The "glitch" is a coloration, usually pink or lime-green with characters printed to screen and then disappears. I have been unable to predict when the glitch will happen, thus no screenshot to help.

Steps I have taken:

Googled on the problem which led me to learn about the Firefox about:crashes function.

Viewed about:crashes -- seems to be a Renderer issue linked to llvmpipe or Mesa?

Checked basic system logs for host and guest for anything evident: syslog, kern, Xorg, messages, dmesg, daemon, journalctl.

Used Firefox troubleshooting and extended troubleshooting.

Installed Firefox 104 with same issue.

Reinstalled VirtualBox.

Search on Firefox Renderer issue [from crash report]

I turned off performance settings, still have same crash issue.

Last Report ID that did not fail to upload: bp-740acc47-0ed4-44a8-851c-ff21b0220905

Ultimately, I am unsure if this is a Firefox, VirtualBox, or Kali Linux issue, but Firefox is the one that this issue is having a severe impact on. My head is spinning at this moment due to all the logs and information I have digested over the weekend.

I appreciate any efforts in helping me decipher what is going on!

Respectfully,

Steve
