Default search engine keeps switching back to google; how do i stop this?!

I keep changing my default search engine to Bing (click magnifying glass, search settings, hit Bing from the drop down in the default search engine menu, hit OK), but EVERYTIME I restart the browser, it switches back to Google. This is driving me insane, and I'm on the verge of uninstalling and using chrome (ironic, i know).
