Special Characters in Generated Passwords
The passwords generated by Firefox do not have special characters by default. Is there a way to have passwords generated that do contain special characters as required by many sites?

It uses the word symbol instead of special character: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1559986

Hi Elias, there is a feature request pending in the bug tracking system for this, but the change appears to be at least a few versions away.
For now, you need to add a symbol yourself, i.e., trigger Firefox to fill the generated password, then type symbols, then submit, then confirm to update the saved login. Perhaps it is safer to visit the Logins and Passwords page and make the edit there? Not sure; I hardly save any logins.
Thanks jscher2000. Could you point to the bug you found? I just did some searching trying to find it without any luck. Maybe I'm not looking in the right place? Started on bugzilla, found links there to both the wiki and github not no bugs that talked about special characters. Thanks again.

Thanks so much! Different terminology that makes sense.
I use over 40 logins. At least half ask for a "symbol" or " special character." I brought all my old logins into Lockwise from LassPass and it took a day or two to learn that the ability to automatically add symbols did not exist. As this is fixed, add the ability to limit or control the character set of symbols. Fix this soon to keep me here.
