Hi, I know this is a beta version of Firefox OS and that it might have some bugs. I already experienced some, like the buggy keyboard for the browser – making me unable to access to the public WiFi hotspot I usually use –, and some crashes, but this one just make me unable to turn my phone on.

Is it related to the phone or the OS ? How can I fix this problem if I can't turn my phone on ? Can I even reset it ?

Thank you for your help.

Edit : I tried to reset it and it worked, but I don't think the problem is fixed. I charged the phone for almost 1~2 hours and the battery didn't charge.

Hi eaoden,

After reading the information provided about your issue I suggest a soft reset of the phone.

  1. Take the back cover of the phone off.
  2. Take the battery out.
  3. Take the SIM card and microSD card out (if applicable).
  4. Wait 10 seconds.
  5. Put the SIM card and microSD card back in (if applicable).
  6. Put the battery back in.
  7. Put the back cover back on.
  8. Turn the device on.
  9. Check if the issue you were having is still present.

Hi,

Thank you for your quick answer and I'm sorry for not replying for almost a week (I didn't find the link to answer to the reply with my Firefox OS phone). I had solved the problem before seeing your answer by trying to reset my phone, then my phone turned on.

I also think it's related to the place where I charge my phone because it does it again today.

My phone is a Mozilla Flame (Thundersoft) running Firefox OS Nightly 2.1, but I remember it was written in the informations something like "boot-2-gecko Nightly 2.2.2, I'll try to complete it tonight when I'll have my phone plugging.

The first time I had this issue I was calling my mother, then my phone turned off. Today it ran out of energy so it may be what happened when I was talking to my mother.

My current phone carrier is Orange.

I encounter this issue each time I'm at home, using the same charger. It doesn't happen when I'm not using this charger, so I think the charger is broken.

Again, please accept my deepest apologizes for not replying as quick as I should've done, I just couldn't open the link in the e-mail.
