When I click on an email it takes 5-8 seconds to open. New email takes the same amount of time for EACH email to load. Scrolling through email is very slow, and I can't click on anything until the scrolling stops. If I click on several emails to delete them, it takes 5-8 seconds for EACH email to highlight be fore i can move it. The entire operation of this program is intolerably slow, and it is extremely frustrating...... How can this be corrected?

I solved my own question here! I looked through more of the support page, and found how to enter Safe Mode, then disable all add-ons. Then one by one I disabled add-ons until I found which add on was slowing down the program. I have only three add-ons. Cardbooks, Lightning, and Provider for Google Calendars. In my case, Cardbooks was the culprit. Once disabled, my Thunderbird runs great!
