Ubuntu 14.04: Firefox 39 puts menubar in window not at top of screen, inconsistent with Unity standards - how do I move to top?

Running Ubuntu 14.04 with Unity. Opinions vary on the best place to put the menu bar, but I love the Mac standard where menus are always at the top of the screen (rather than the Windows standard where the menubar lives in the application window). I was very happy when Unity introduced this.

I have just upgraded to Firefox 39 and find that - once you have worked out how to customise toolbars so that the menu is visible at all - the menu follows the Windows standard and is in the application window.

Can I move it to the top of the screen so that it's consistent with every other Unity application?

I assume that this integration is achieved via an extension.

Are extensions that Ubuntu adds to Firefox still enabled and working?

Did you check the browser console for error message immediately after startup?

I have the following extensions enabled:

  • Ubuntu Firefox Modifications 3.0
  • Ubuntu Online Accounts 0.5
  • Unity Desktop Integration 3.0.2
  • Unity Websites integration 2014.08.06 beta

I can't see anything in the browser console that looks relevant - what might I be looking for?
