Using a dialup connection. When I close Firefox, is it possible to automatically close the internet connection?

Using windows XP Pro. I have a machine that connects to the internet using a dialup modem. When I start Firefox, it initiates the dialup connection. When I close Firefox, it leaves the internet connection open. I would like the connection to close when Firefox closes. Is there a straightforward way of achieving this?
