Cannot use links in hotmail page to enter inbox or messages, works fine in Explorer or Google Chrome

I can get to the hotmail website and into my account but the page looks different from usual, instead of usual graphics there are listings of inbox, contacts etc. Although the usual hotlinks seem to be there, nothing happens when I click on them. I don't have this problem on Google Chrome or Explorer. I tried reloading Firefox but it didn't work. Yesterday was the first time I encountered this problem.

Also! I tried to uninstall Firefox but it didn't show up in the listing of programs when I went to the Control panel (I have Windows XP.) That seems very strange.
