Firefox Sync History Limit

more options

Hi,

I finally managed to merge my history of 2 different profiles to one single places.sqlite. Now, that I've created a sync account and successfully synced my history, I've learned that Firefox has a limit for history sync: Only the last two months are synchronised.

I searched about:config for all entries named "history", but there is no option to increase the limit. Furthermore, I've checked about:sync-log for errors, but there aren't any.

As I've never deleted my history since several years, I would like to use Firefox sync to synchronise this new places.sqlite also to other devices (PCs and Notebooks).

How can I increase the amount of History objects synchronised via Firefox sync?

Thanks & Cheers, Tom

Chosen solution

The browser.history_expire prefs are no longer supported in current Firefox releases (this stopped quite some time ago), so no need to look for them or create them.

HI Tom104Tom, You have to turn on the logging for the about:sync-log to turn on logging. So there is also a history expiration time by default in the about:config page that gives the exact limit.

browser.history_expire_days.mirror browser.history_expire_days browser.history_expire_days_min browser.history_expire_sites

You can use the sqlite add on to check out the contents of the file to see if they are there.

Hi cor-el,

thanks for the clarification. That's too bad - then the sync feature is useless to me :(

Hi Tom104Tom, How did you managed to merge the history of 2 diffferent profiles. I have run into the same problem with the "lack of history" support from Mozilla. Only sync-ing last 2 months is a joke IMO. So Tom104Tom, Please post full details. Thanks In Advance Freddy
